I gave it a really high score because I just enjoyed watching this drama. I saw many negative reviews about this drama so I'm pretty sure that they won't agree with me. The story is about two people in love who were separated by their own circumstances for 7 years. This simple story already attracted me but what made me love the story more was the flashback scenes during their college days which were very crucial in creating this kind of drama.

It was my first time to watch the main leads in a project and their acting was just fine . I also wasn't able to read the novel in which this drama was based from so I'm not quite sure if the readers' idea of Yichen and Mosheng was played faithfully by Wallace and Tiffany. More than the main leads, Xiao Xiao (Mi Lu) and Yuan Feng (Yang Le)'s story stole the show for me. They were so entertaining to watch that I wish they even had more scenes because they were so great!

Just like "Boss & Me", the music did not disappoint and can easily make you feel good. My favorite was the opening song by Zhang Jie with the same title as the drama. I'm already downloading the OST as of writing this review haha!

I'm not a rewatcher so I didn't give a high score for that though I'd be fine in rewatching some of the scenes that made me happy and feel good. Overall, the drama had its fair share of angst (also annoying) and romantic moments but still managed to be a relaxing watch which made me love it. I haven't watched so many good C-dramas yet but I consider this as one of the good ones so far so you may try this out if you're craving for some romantic/nostalgic-themed drama to watch.

Let me just start by saying that this is one of the few dramas that I have watched without missing a scene. The acting was phenominaly done. So real. And I'm not just talking about the leads. All the characters were so real, not overdone like other dramas. So much chemistry between the main couple. Such a beautiful love story.. I'm so envious... *sigh*.
The only flaw was how much they butchered the English language... wow it was so bad. But I found it kind of entertaining still, I guess they tried their best.
I also really hated Mosheng's wardrobe... I don't think I'm the only one.
Overall I definitely recommend this drama, you will not regret it.

I've tried watching this show 3 times now on Netflix, each time I'd quit after the first episode, the third try I got to episode 2 and hated it. This morning, I was on Netflix again and after watching Tiffany's other shows last night (Perfect Couple and The Princess Wei Young), I decided to give it another go. But this version on Netflix was different! It only had 4 episodes! I was so confused until I realized that it was a directors cut and was SUPER condensed. I started to watch it and found myself falling in love in the first episode. It skipped all of the boring BS in the begining! Around halfway through episode 2 though, I found myself actually wanting to see what was cut out. So I started at episode 14 of the original cut and LO AND BEHOLD, thats when the real magic begins. I couldn't stop and FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SHOW, THE COUPLE, AND THEIR LOVE.

My reccomendation for those who can't start this show or dropped it? Watch the directors cut till episode 2, the first 20 minutes, then go to the normal cut episode 14. I know the show starts off slow but IT IS WORTH EVERY SECOND!

For anyone who doesn't have Netflix, you can search for the 33 episode of You Are My Sunshine on Dramanice.to, episode 33 (they also have the directors cut as episodes 33, 34, 35, and 36) then switch to episode 14.

Happy watching! :)

Go into this drama believing that true love really does exist after a long time-7 years- and it'll be easier to watch this drama. I have to say that reunited love is one of my favorite storylines so although this drama was draggy in some parts, and the plot wasn't that unique- I still thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

Wallace Chung has good chemistry with Tiffany Tang. Physically, they look great together and Yi Chen (Wallace) demonstrated his anguish for Mo Sheng (Tiffany) very well. Yes, he was dubbed but that's necessary since Wallace's pronunciation in mandarin isn't that good since he speaks Cantonese natively. It's fine though because his dubbed voice is nice and the dubbing is in sync. The story itself is nothing that new but this drama was calm and beautiful. It's an easy watch even with some annoying characters that I fast forwarded through.

The flashbacks were also a main aspect of this drama, they used flashbacks periodically within episodes to slowly unravel the misunderstandings and backstories. Though this drama was slow-moving, the anticipation created within the flashbacks made me want to come back for more episodes; in that respect, this drama was kind of addicting for me. I admit that they did repeat the same flashbacks over and over again in the end but I just fast forwarded it so it wasn't a problem. In the flashbacks, the director used different actors for young Yi Chen and Mo Sheng. Props to the young actors, they channeled Yi Chen's and Mo Sheng's spirits very well. Young Yi Chen even kinds of looks like Wallace and young Mo Sheng was so cute and bubbly.

I liked how their love never wavered for one another throughout the whole drama, and that the antagonists couldn't tear them apart. There were tons of misunderstandings in the beginning, but it didn't take that long, and once they were resolved their relationship was wonderful to watch. I really liked Yuan Feng and Xiao Xiao (Viola Mi) here. They were both hilarious and had such character depth; they felt like real people.

The music was lovely. It complemented all the tranquil and emotionally anguished scenes. Wallace's real voice in one of the songs was also really good.

Re-watch? Maybe, maybe not. I recommend it to people who don't want to watch a crazy plot, and just want to watch a beautiful romantic drama. (9/8)

I was so curious to see this drama because novelist Gu Man always produced good dramas such as Boss & Me and Love 020.
When I finished this drama, I was fascinated by the charm of the story and was a little unable to move on to another drama.
Gu Man, you are an amazing writer!
You will fall in love with the male lead character Yi Chen, his love for Mo Sheng never fades with time, he is so obsessive towards her.
I like the character of the female lead Mo Sheng, her love for Yi Chen is strong but not cheap, whenever Yi Chen hurts her feelings, she remains strong with dignity.
And their kissing scenes, Wallace Chung is really a good kisser.
Mo Sheng's costume in my opinion does not look gorgeous, although in some reviews it is said she wears famous brands in this drama.
For Yi Chen's costume, Wallace Chung is said wearing some of his own suit collections, he always looks dashing in his suit as a top lawyer. I love men in suits ❤️❤️❤️
I love the ost Why Love by Wallace Chung himself.
The ending is great, true love is worth waiting for and fighting for.
I have rewatched this drama many times and have always been fascinated by its story.

This is only the second Chinese drama I see. I started this drama because I had just seen and read the novel Boss and me. I knew from the beginning that this would not be a similar comedy, but this is the same writer and director, so I started watching. The first two chapters were the most boring I've seen in a drama: The couple, formerly known not say a word. Then there are two more chapters in which only see the young protagonists. The result is that I not connect with the characters adults once reappear.

Story: The story is beautiful. A first love that endures despite the time and distance. Since it can not be beautiful? however it is slow and quite frustrating! the protagonists are as strangers, they do not talk to each other. I do not think Yichen is a man so virtuous and perfect, as suggested by readers. Spoiler: He was the one who cut the relationship, and he did not want see his face again. However, blames her for leaving. He wants to have her by his side, but at the same time is torture for both. I do not understand this relationship. And it was not until after consuming marriage, he wants to hear. This seems the stone age.

Cast: Did not know of the actors, nor have I sympathized with none. It spoils everything by dubbing Yichen. I would have preferred a less handsome actor, but I could see his face without thinking about the voice uncoordinated. On the other hand if I limit myself to read subtitles and not look at it is a waste. This angers me, and certainly detracts very naturally to the scenes! The female does not seem to me what they say cute character. I do not understand because it takes that awful wig? The sour face that brings all the time does not help... let's say it was feature of the character, but in any way, she was able to study what she wanted, and succeed in her career; she have a hard time, but she could mature, however I do not understand because after all it still seems so silly. I much preferred the young Mosheng, no doubt! The rest of the cast has not bothered me ... the photographer and the model were especially fun!

Music: If there is a reason that pushed me to continue watching this drama, I think it is partly for music. It is not only beautiful, also it is perfect. Like the photograph of drama. A feast for the ears and for the eyes! Despite all the negative is not an unpleasant drama, on the contrary! and it's all thanks to this: Production, editing, photography, music,... all very good!!

The ending: the last two chapters are again the most boring thing I've ever seen in a drama! First, is irrelevant if the sister gets a boyfriend or not. Then, redisplay the same scenes we had seen the young actors now performed by adults, is frankly bad! And I finally stayed a doubt: Mosheng get to someday know out the reason for their separation?

A good mix of melodrama and sweetness after a so-so start

I finally finished this drama after having it on my Hold list for ages. I just could not get past how spineless the FL in the beginning but I really like Wallace Chung and his acting. I'm glad that I gave it another chance because the FL got better towards the later part of the show (after ep 22).

The plot was not unique but really quite lovely, about a couple who fell in love in college, separated due to misunderstandings and past grievances, and in the end found their way back to each other. The drama featured flashbacks of their college days
and those episodes were good. Kudos to Luo Yun Xi and Janice Wu for their portrayals of the leads in their younger days. I cannot believe how much these two actors have progressed in their careers.

I am not too impressed by Tiffany Tang's acting and I think she could portrayed the FL better especially in the beginning. Her wimpiness was too pathetic but it could be because of the script and directing. She looked really pretty though even in the ridiculous outfits that the show dressed her in. I really questioned the stylist and the choices for her.

Wallace was great as the ML, displaying a myriad of emotions. He can ham it up during the comedic moments and adopt a cold stone face when the moment called for it. He Yichen, the character himself was not the perfect ML but his commitment once he decided the FL was the one, was swoon-worthy. His hairstyle though - LOL, again I am not sure what the stylist was thinkinig. Other than his hairstyle though, he looked pretty suave in his suits.

Love the shenanigans of the law office and the fashion magazine folks, and I enjoying watching the second couple's path to love - truly a hate to love relationship!

Most may view the SML, Ying Hui as being annoying for his refusal to give up but I was actually quite intrigued by him. Honestly, if the FL chose to be with him, I would have been fine too. He was good-looking, successful, smart and also committed to the FL. I have seen Tan Kai, the actor in more recent shows and I must say that he's aging very well.

I really enjoyed the soundtrack especially the opening song, "My Sunshine" by Zhang Jie, the angsty "Why Love" by Wallace Chung and the equally emotional "A Ray of Light" by Hua Chen Yu. Tiffany also sang a lovely one for the show called Long Time No See. I am not sure why they selected the English song - most of the time, it did not fit the scenes. For posterity, I have list the songs below.

Overall, the later episodes and the really great ending left me satisfied, and the college scenes made this show a good one for me. I would recommend it but with the advice that if you feel your interest faltering, you should try to get past episode 22 because it does get better later. At least for me, it did.

80% of the show is People Staring Lifelessly Into The Distance + Flashbacks of the same 5 scenes every single ep. At first I thought I had brain damage and was hallucinating spasmodic loops of scenes from 20 minutes to 2 eps ago... until I realized a director and an editor, in full consciousness and sound mind, approved a snoozefest of 100 repeat flashbacks. At the very least the show definitely treats you like you have brain damage.

What's with part of the OST being ripped from Boss & Me? The art direction is a mess, did they edit the whole thing in Windows Movie Maker? The only female character with any smattering of personality is Xiao Mei thanks to the actress playing her, why wasn't there anyone on their production team with even half a brain to realize she'd make a better lead? Is this really professional budget or some film student's failed graduation thesis? etc, are a humble preview of the mile-long litany of issues I had with the show.

Lead actress can't act for her life, but even the most luminous talents wouldn't be able to salvage a passive one-dimensional giggling doormat of a woman. Seemed like college!Mo Sheng was written by a different, more competent person, and performed thus by a competent actress, whereas the adult storyline was stapled together at the last minute by a comatose primate, and they picked whichever pretty face they could find with an empty schedule. The show should have entirely been a college romance instead of this confused, catatonic, seizure-inducing abortion of a story. Basically a 32-hour cinematic depiction of what it's like to have a stroke.

I enjoyed the drama while it lasted, but I have mixed feelings about it so I can see how there are people that love it, and some that didn't. When I first started, I was hooked, even though the storyline was predictable, I wanted to see it actually play out on my screen. However, the pace at which the story proceeded was very slow, and some episodes made me feel like there was no progress at all. There were some parts of the story that were disappointing and made me feel like there was something missing. And then all of sudden the last couple episodes... they just felt kind of jumpy, random, and rushed. I definitely thought that they could've done a better job editing/planning.

Looking past the flaws, I can say that I did love the two leads, and they made a great pairing. I made it through the show with the romance in their scenes. I especially loved Wallace, he really owned his role, and even though I thought that his character probably didn't have the greatest qualities, I ended up falling in love with him anyways. On the other hand, Tiffany's character annoyed me a bit, I felt much more for her when she was young than her as an adult. The supporting characters were also a mix, there were some of the typical annoying characters that exist in dramaland, and there were some that I really liked as well.

Overall, it was a typical romantic drama with slow pacing. I found myself to like it in general even with all its flaws, but perhaps I simply just loved both the actors, so if you don't it might make the drama even less appealing. Definitely not for someone looking for a light and fluffy romcom.

This may not be the cup of tea for everyone but watching this made me feel good. The story may not be a new concept but how it was portrayed was quiet well. You can taste the bitterness in the start as well as that tinge of sweetness towards the end.

As for the main lead, this is my first time watching them, nonetheless, the male lead's act is spectacular. I haven't read the novel but how the male lead character was played is satisfying. The coldness, love, and anger can be seen through his eyes and how he smiles is a good point all throughout. I also love how Xiao Xiao was played. It was hilarious and made the series more interesting.

Furthermore, one thing that I love most towards this series is the soundtracks. I fell in love with the music at the first episode! (The music is still on my head while writing this).

This may not be the perfect series but it was overall satisfying. It is one of those "feel good" dramas that will keep you smiling while watching. There was a lot of flashbacks within the present frame that I don't think are necessary and may bore a lot of people, but this flaw can be forgiven for it somewhat gives the sweet feeling of youth. Watching the flashbacks remind me of the old times.

This may be not be for everyone but I think it is worth recommending to those who want to simply have a sweet feeling and have a ray of sunshine for the day. It is a great series to watch if you're having a break.

I will definitely watch this again in the future if I wanted to "feel good".

What a disturbingly normal story.

In the first 10 episodes the FL is barely lifts her head to meet the ML eyes. Instead of feeling any chemistry between the two, I felt worried about her. Everything including their past and present relationship till episode 18 seems like the ML has the upper hand and FL just follows whatever he wants blindly. And so many questionable things happens.

The ML clearly broke up with her, told her he didn't want to see her again. Yes, the FL should have at least asked him why he wanted to, she for first time during their relationship decided to hold back. Her father forced her to move abroad and she had no way to contact ML since he refused to give her his contact details. Its 7 years later, the ML blames her saying that she just left and it felt like she broke up with him. And she apologizes.

Next, when she tells him she is divorced, he lashes out and says what makes her think that he could accept a divorced woman. He then shows up next day asks her to get married. The FL, no questions asked accepts again blindly.

Does the groom seem happy to be married? No!
Does he tell everyone that he is married? No!
His family comes to town and does he invite her to meet them? No!
She has to ask him why they are sneaking around when they are married.

What's more, she seems to have successful career, however he doesn't seem to praise her or even be proud to be her husband.

That's not even the worse:
An incident where the ML forcefully kisses her after he drinks a little, he comes back the next day apologizes for it and the heroine just shrugs its off as if its not a big concern and its acceptable. (And this is not a one off, another incident where he falls on her in jealous rage but stops himself)
Another incident with her fake marriage, another guy who got drunk and almost tried to force his attentions on her.

When the FL's ex-husband shows up threatening their marriage, he then suddenly does a 180 and becomes an husband who's actually interested in his wife. Then he realizes their marriage wasn't a real one and he wants to make it one. The ending was so bizarre because this guy was non-communicative and controlling.

Apart from the story, what was wrong with the show's stylist, I remember only 1 outfit that FL looked great in, it was when she showed up for a meeting with her ex husband. They went out of their way to make the FL look crappy at all turns. That woman was so gorgeous that she managed to make rock the botched pixie cut.
