It has been about eleven years since Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin starred in the classic It Started With a Kiss. Sadly we will not be getting a third season as many of us wanted. Instead Taiwan has decided to remake it from the beginning with a whole new cast.

This version will be called It a Kiss.  Although I am disappointed that I won't see Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng in a season 3, I am excited to see these two new emerging actors play out one of my favorite shoujo stories.

Xiang Qin will be played by Esther Wu (Pursuit of Happiness) and Zhi Shu will be played by Lee Dino(Our Time). Since they have not been in a movie or drama together before, it will be interesting to see their chemistry as these two very popular characters. Esther Wu has been in a good number of commercials since she started her acting career in 2012. She has also played in multiple supporting roles but has never taken the spotlight in any drama. It will be interesting to see how she performs.

Lee Dino has been gaining quite a bit of fame due to his singing career. Perhaps we will hear a song or two by him in the drama (just like how Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng did in the previous version.)  Lee has admitted to feeling the pressure since his predecessor Joe Cheng was so loved as Zhi Shu. In addition to that, they are under pressure to try to replicate It Started With a Kiss' success and popularity? He has been doing his research and wants to make sure that he does a great job, instead of just coming off as a copy of Joe Cheng.

The Director of this drama has said he will be keeping closer to the manga then the previous one. This drama will contain 13 episodes.

I first saw It Started with a Kiss a few years ago and I loved it. Originally when I saw that it had 20 episodes, I thought that it might be too long. However, as I started watching it, I simply did not want it to end.  They Kiss Again was hands down one of my favorite dramas. To be honest, I was disappointed when I saw that this would not be a season 3, but now I am excited to see this new casting.

What about you guys? Are you excited? Do you want Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin to come back? Is It a Kiss on your dramalist?
