A STALKER'S GUIDE TO JI CHANG WOOK
(A versatile actor, multi-entertainer, fashion icon, musical theater actor, endorser/ambassador, generous friend and a loving son all rolled into one.)
HIS PASSION! HIS LOVE!
I have never seen an actor as passionate as Ji Chang Wook. More than his good looks and sex appeal (which is overflowing), his overwhelming charisma and projection, his multi-talent and skills, it is his topnotch enthusiasm, dedication and hardwork that separates him from his contemporaries. He never stops improving his craft and talent. Fans never get bored of him and see how he's bettered himself daily. Ji Chang Wook never settles for good, he always does what is above best. He wants his fans to be wowed everyday and in every projects that he does! His motives are just pure and simply to delight his fans everyday! AND THAT IS PASSION!
He has worked hard to be where he is now from his humble beginnings. All his work are laden with much contemplation and awesome execution! He never gets tired of studying his various roles! He is one of the few actors who reads and studies a script many times to get a better understanding of what it takes for the role. He does not want to be popular, he just wants to be called a "good actor".
Before everything else, let me update you on his upcoming roles:
1. FABRICATED CITY - This is the first full length movie and debut film of Ji Chang Wook. It tells the story of an avid video gamer who is framed for murder by an organization. With the help of his equally gamer friend and a genius hacker, he is able to plot his revenge. An action-packed movie set to be released in February 2017. I can't wait for this!
2. Mr. RIGHT - This is Ji Chang Wook's first Chinese Drama. It tells the story of a working youth, Wang Wei An, who becomes a second generation chaebol overnight! Those of us on Social Media love this because we're able to see JCW on a daily basis thanks to the hundreds of Chinese fans who keep updating us non-stop with pictures and videos of JCW in China. Unfortunately, there is no scheduled air date yet.
DRAMA
Now, allow me to walk you through the many works of Ji Chang Wook, 8 years after his debut. Feast yourselves on the LOVE AND PASSION that is Ji Chang Wook!
THE K2 (2016)
- ("brawn and brainy")
- Those superheroes
- They fly and they are
mighty
- They wear spandex
- And they are naughty
- Sometimes they come in
metal
- And they are funny
- But you, Kim Je Ha are
simply
- Just brawn and brainy!
I have never been as excited in my kdrama watching as much as I was K2! This drama is great with awesome non-stop-action-packed-adrenaline-rush scenes that makes you wonder whether you are watching a Hollywood action movie! JI Chang Wook just ushered in a new life to the awesome and beautiful character of Kim Jeha. His looks, aura, and charisma complete Jeha as a character! His acting as a soldier, mercenary, a laborer, a bodyguard are just so beautifully done! Kim Jeha is Ji Chang Wook and Ji Chang Wook is Kim Jeha! He owns the character! And wow, he is just terrific in all his action scenes. He has provided a fresh meaning to what an Action Star is -- brawn AND brainy!
FIRST KISS FOR THE SEVENTH TIME Ep 3 (2016)
("he deserved that kiss!")
- Along with 7 oppas
- Is this hot-swoon papa
- With a single lady in a
drama
- He has to kiss this noona!
This is an Ad campaign by Lotte Duty Free Mall via a webdrama. Each episode is only 10 minutes. As Ji Chang Wook is a new ambassador of Lotte Duty Free, he makes an appearance as one of the men that a single girl has to kiss for the first time. This is sort of a fantasy drama where the seven actors including Ji Chang Wook, act as themselves. He is a sexy secret agent who has worked in the past with the leading lady! It has a few fighting scenes and, of course, Ji Chang Wook pulled it off awesomely! I think he is one extra sexy and gorgeous agent here, and man, that look in his eyes prior to kissing the girl is just swoon worthy! He totally deserved that kiss.
WHIRLWIND GIRL 2 (2016)
("Insanely pretty")
- A handsome pretty face
- In my small screen has
graced
- That makes my heart race
- And In my mind I cannot erase!
This is Ji Chang Wook's second Chinese drama. The story is anchored on the plot of the first season, though with the introduction of a new character, Master Chang An (Ji Chang Wook.) Chang An is the new Master/Coach who is cold and tough at the beginning, but eventually turns out to be a kind-hearted, soft spoken, affectionate, loyal and loving person. Ji Chang Wook is the perfect Master Chang An as his beautiful and lovely face gives more color to the whole character. In addition, Ji Chang Wook is the perfect ideal boyfriend and husband material in this story! He just nailed the character so believably.
HEALER (2014)
("gorgeously dapper")
- You made our hearts aflutter
- As we lurker and de-lurker
- Drool and spazz into cyber
- For you are one hell of a dapper
- And you are our Healer!
Ji Chang Wook plays Seo Jung Hoo, an "errand boy" who works under the alias Healer. Renowned for being the best in his field, Jung-hoo is equipped not only with advanced technology and a trusty hacker sidekick, but also with his superb fighting skills. His ultimate goal is to save money and buy a deserted island off the coast of Panama and to live there alone. Healer sealed Ji Chang Wook's status as a Hallyu Star and his popularity skyrocketed during and after the airing of Healer! He not only wowed girls because of his uber hotness and gorgeousness, but also made fans due to his explosive onscreen and behind the scenes chemistry with his leading lady, Park Min Young! Healer was not only hailed because of the couple's chemistry but also because of how it was beautifully written and executed. Many drama fans and addicts now considers Healer as one of their all-time top drama. And should I exclude myself? Healer is my number 1 drama of all time hands-down!
EMPRESS KI (2013-2014)
("magnificent and mindblowing")
- An emperor or a puppet tad?
- Is he crazy or just mad?
- A coward or just plain
fool?
- Is he weak or just being
cool?
- Whatever or whoever he is
- Empress Ki is just his,
- Magnificent and
mind-blowing!
Empress Ki made him an international fan favorite because of his fantastic portrayal of a young emperor! Ji Chang Wook was a breathe of fresh air to his character! Ji Chang Wook's portrayal of the young king left a strong impression on both critics and the audience, earning him critical acclaim. His acting is spectacular and brilliant! For me, Ji Chang Wook is the most outstanding actor in Empress Ki. He is a young and obsessive emperor that you both love and hate at the same time! I don't really think of any other actor who could pull off such a feat! In my opinion, this is his best drama in terms of acting! Ji Chang Wook as Tahwan was engrossing, magnificent and mind-blowing!
HAVE YOU HAD COFFEE WITH AN ANGEL (2014)
(KARA's SECRET LOVE)
("absolutely adorable")
- An angel in a sexy man's body
- Oh what a joy and be happy
- To sit down and have some coffee
- With an angel as hot as
- Ji Chang Wook-ssi!
This is a mini-series drama composed of 5 different love stories starring the Korean girl group, KARA. Ji Chang Wook is one of the leading men in one of the episodes. He portrayed a cute, naughty, guardian angel falling in love with the girl he is supposed to be guarding. This is super short but I found it very funny, cute, and again JiChangWook is just great here. Even if it was just a light comedy, he just provided the comedic acting prowess. And who would not want to watch an angel in JiChangWook's sexy bod? The angel is just absolutely adorable just like JiChangWook-ssi!
FIVE FINGERS (2012)
('angsty and feisty")
- The villainest of villains
- So angsty and feisty
- Hateful and resentful
- But this lonely In Ha
- Is just sad and jealous
- A love from his brother
- Is what he just longed for!
This was JiChangWook's first role as a villain and he is one of the most believable villain out there. I'm not just saying that because i'm biased! He is just an incredible character actor, plausible and palpable! He played a jealous, resentful and vengeful younger brother to Joon Jin Hoo, who is a piano genuis just like him. What makes this drama incredible is the acting of the 3 actors, including their mother played by Chae Si Ra! You can feel and see the acting power of this three especially if they are in a scene together. Also did I mention how JiChangWook cries so perfectly here? All his crying scene are insanely acted with so much emotion! He is totally angsty and feisty!
BACHELOR's VEGETABLE STORE (2011-2012)
("smoldered and smexy")
- A quick speck on the
nose
- Why I find so hot and sexy?
- His soulful and dreamy eyes
- Is like sweet as honey
- That's how Han Tae Yang
- Smoldered and smexy!
This is based on a true story of a young man who is very determined to turn a small vegetable store to a huge and well known store in the country. JiChangWook played that young man Han Tae Yang. He, together with his 5 friends made history in making Han Tae Yang dreams a reality amids the many struggles and challenges that they have to face to. The character is very passionate, kind, humble and loving. And what makes this loved by many and by yours truly is JiChangWook's consistent and believable portrayal of the character from beginning to end. In addition, what I love about JiChangWook in this drama is the way he uses his eyes effectively with those mant layered of emotions! The eyes are just absolute smoldered and smexy!
WARRIOR BAEK DONG SOO (2011)
('sexy bromance')
- Cheerfully spirited and
- Awesomely happy
- Is my Warrior Dong Soo
- But that bromance plot
- With cutie Yeo Woon
- Is what everyone was
- Looking for too!
This is the first sageuk drama of JiChangWook set during the Joseon Dynasty. He is warrior Baek Dong Soo, the best swordsman during the era and a guard who protects the king together with his two other friends. This drama is complete with all the elements of a good historical drama that included action, friendship, romance, and political intrigue! This has one of the best fighting scenes I have seen. Ji Chang Wook is incredible in all his fighting stunts together with his friend in the drama, Yeo Woon, played by Yoo Seung Ho! And speaking of this friendship, this drama has produced one of the best bromances in the history of kdrama. JiChangWook and Yoo Seaung Hoo had such an amazing chemistry as two loyal friends!
SMILE DONGHAE (2010-2011)
("Young and restless")
- I was totally smitten
- Like my heart has bitten
- By a young speed
skater
- In the name of Carl Laker
- And a chef named Dong
Hae
- Who is a sweet oppa bae
- But he is caring
and loving
- And kind without doubting
- To his mom who is lucky
- And Bongyi who is happy!
This drama is where I fell in love with the amazing JiChangWook. When I first laid eyes on him watching this drama 4 years ago, I knew my heart will grow for him...and it did, big time! The story is about a son and his mom (Donghae and Anna Laker) who came back to South Korea in order to look for his biological father, who happens to be an heir to an owner of a hotel conglomerate. I love how the son and mom weathered through all hardships and difficulties of life to finally find the long lost father. I love JiChangWook as Donghae and for me no other actor can portray Donghae as effectively as JiChangWook! It is as if the writer has JiChangWook on his mind to play when he is writing the story. Even at a young age JiChangWook already had a knack at acting! And he can handle the role so maturely and responsibly. No wonder he was called Korea's Son after this drama ended. He was held by the many viewers with much liking and respect! Indeed he was so young and restless!
