Many of our countries do not celebrate Christmas nor do they even have a winter so it was a struggle to fulfill this topic, but since we know people were anticipating our article in December, we did our best to tackle the topic of  "Winter Holidays" or even just "Winter".

We are sorry for the delay, but real life can get quite tricky. :) Hope you enjoy the article even if it's a month and a half late. :( But we will be back soon and we'll do our best to recommend you both popular and unpopular shows. ^~^

There are no winters in the Philippines, but Christmas is a big deal, with songs already playing on air by September. As much as Christmas is well-loved in this country, there are, however, only a few dramas and movies which particularly go into this theme.

The Aguinaldo family arrives to find their home burglarized. They start to quarrel as secrets are revealed at the Christmas Eve dinner table.

A girl is given magical powers on her birthday to grant wishes by a mysterious woman. There are, however, consequences to her gift.

Four poor children are left to fend for themselves. They celebrate Christmas together, even without their loved-ones.

Piolo Pascual (a.k.a. Papa Piolo) stars as a rebellious young man who finds love as he fulfils his grandmother’s condition of completing a Filipino practice of attending nine successive dawn Masses before Christmas in order to gain his inheritance.

Bonus: I Love You, HaterPuso Ng Pasko (unsubbed)

Taiwan has no winter in the real sense of the word (apparently, it does snow high in the mountains... sometimes) and no Christmas, so it was hard to find some that fit this. I did my best to pick some shows that could make you guys laugh, maybe cry or at least smile.

Some men never grow up. Zheng Hua Jia is one of them, a 28 year-old college junior who still lives at home. As the oldest grandson, he is endlessly doted on by his large, extended family. Then his grandmother's illness and his cousins' misfortunes force him to re-examine his life and commitment to the family business.

Wei Li, Da Pang, and Ya Ya are three university students sharing an apartment together. One day, they find an envelope full of money sitting on the floor of their apartment. As they all need money, they take some of their own, thinking it is one of the others' money and that they can return it later. Suddenly, Kaka, their friend and landlord's granddaughter, appears after spending a year abroad with a mysterious baby in tow looking for the envelope and reveals that the envelope of money was for the baby's babysitting fee. Because the boys had already spent the money, they are forced to take up the job of caring for the baby instead.

Poni and Mini are identical twins. They’re the same height, the same weight, they get the same grades in high school, and even play the same position on the basketball team. All of which tends to make people forget that they are individuals. For Poni, the elder twin, the biggest challenge is to make people realize how different they are. But even Ping, Poni’s secret admirer, is unable to tell the girls apart, sending gifts to Mini’s classroom by accident. When Mini’s boyfriend, Yogurt (who can tell them apart), can’t handle Mini, he comes to Poni to ask her advice. Poni can’t understand why people think twins are so mysterious. In her opinion, twins are just two people who happen to look alike. But then why is it that Yogurt can tell them apart, when Ping can’t?

Ah B (Vic Zhou) is a well-known racing champion who lost his fame and fortune due to an accident. To make things worse, his wife leaves him and he turns to smoking, drinking and gambling to get through life. One day, Ah B's wife, who has disappeared for six years, reappears with a boy named Bin Bin (Xiao Xiao Bin), claiming that Bin Bin is his son and that she has to leave him under his care for time being. Despite their initial wariness, the two gradually develop a close father-and-son relationship and a glimmer of hope is re-ignited in Ah B's life of self-pity.

Bonus: Murmur of Youth, KanoA Choo

The story takes place at the College of Music, Mahidol University, over one year and covers the three seasons that Bangkok typically experiences – summer, winter and monsoon. It chronicles the life of a young high school student, Pom, and his impulsive decision to attend a music school, unknown to his parents, because of a girl he has secretly liked for three years, Dao. 

Bangkok Sweety revolves around many love stories that begin on Christmas Eve's night and end on Valentine's night.

Denchai is a geeky 30-year-old IT officer whose existence is only acknowledged when his colleagues need tech support. He feels even more of an outcast every time his co-workers call on him for help and can’t even remember his name.
Denchai’s mundane world is flipped upside down when he goes to fix a printer for a new girl in the Marketing department named Nui. Nui happens to get his name correct, making him feel valued once again.  

The story is set during the Thai new year (Songkran Festival) and is divided into 3 parts: Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.

The nostalgic ensemble drama The Moment sends a love letter to Hong Kong through four stories linked together by a portrait studio.
A real estate agent is tasked to acquire an old property that houses a traditional photo studio, but the owner is bedridden and his tired son refuses to sell. A middle-aged man picks up a young woman, only to find out that she's his daughter seeking answers on why he left her mother years ago. A celebrity couple have recently broken up, but they get cast opposite each other in a romantic film. A woman rejects the proposal of her boyfriend, but regrets the decision afterwards and tries to win him back.

Where is the end of the world? A rich girl diagnosed with leukemia wants to follow a sailor friend Ted to St. Kilda, Scotland to find out, but first she must search for him, who is missing, out. She meets Mr. Worm, the chief of a lost-and-found company, and she decides to enlist his help in tracking Ted down. 

CJ7 is a comedy about a poor laborer father, Ti, played by Stephen Chow, and his young son, Dicky. When a fascinating and strange new pet enters their lives, Dicky, an elementary school student, sees a chance to overcome his poor background and shabby clothes and impress his fellow students for the first time in his life. The "pet" however has other ideas and when Dicky brings it to class, comedic chaos erupts including a showdown with the terrifying school bully, Storm Dragon! 

While working as a server at a banquet, Kam witnesses ballroom instructor Namson Lau (Andy Lau) pull Tina in to a dance. Enchanted by their moves, Kam falls in love with the art of dance and scrapes up enough money to learn at Namson's studio. She works hard in hopes of one day being able to dance with Namson.

Sun Yi Wei is a 30 years old man with an outstanding graduation and an excellent job, but his traditional family still worries about him being single at this age.
Chi Xiao Xiao is a college student from a wealthy family that goes bankrupt causing her to start working to pay for the debt.

Yi Wei sees Xiao Xiao as an opportunity to get rid of his families attempts to marry him off and she sees in him an opportunity to pay for her family's debt.

The story is about a woman who silently loves a man, but has never been brave enough to say anything, and a man who searches every memory he can gather to know who she was.

All he has is a letter telling him all about her feelings even though, for her, it's already too late.

The true story of a coach and the journey he takes to train a bunch of kids called "little coal balls" into becoming a short-track speed team.

Seo Jung Hoo, teams up with a brilliant hacker and takes up the job of a night courier where he'd perform all jobs excluding murder. On one of the jobs, he meets Chae Young Shin , and thus begins a journey to unravel the secrets involving the death of their respective fathers.

A love story between a werewolf and a girl who isn't scared of him. While the village dreads the werewolf and fails to accept him, Soon Yi teaches the werewolf how to live a normal life. Eventually, when they part, she promises to come back, and asks him to wait for her.

Just between lovers revolves around Gang Doo (Lee Jun Ho) and Moon Soo who have lost their loved ones in a tragic accident in the past. Several years later, both of them are haunted by the accident, and are shaken when they get involved in the construction activity of the accident site. It is a story of love, regrets, trauma and healing.
