Lee Mi Do confirmed to join Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young in a new SBS K-drama
Actor Gong Yoo's father died at the age of 78.
On February 7, Gong Yoo's agency Management SOOP revealed that the actor's father had passed away on February 5.
The mortuary of his father was set up at the Asan Hospital in Seoul and it was reported that Gong Yoo personally welcomed the mourners while guarding the mortuary despite his sorrow.
The funeral will be held at 5:20 AM KST on February 8 at Sian Family Memorial Park.
Gong Yoo is scheduled to appear in the February 9 episode of the YouTube program 뜬뜬 DdeunDdeun with his best friend, actor Lee Dong Wook. It will be part of the Lunar New Year's special. There is no confirmation yet if their episode will not be postponed given the current situation. This will be his second appearance in the program.
Gong Yoo last starred in the 2021 Netflix original K-drama The Silent Sea.
The top actor is set to lead in the upcoming Netflix original K-drama The Trunk with Seo Hyun Jin. The production has already started filming.
Gong Yoo is also expected to return to Squid Game Season 2. The actor was included in the first teaser trailer released by Netflix.
The actor will also make a cameo appearance in the upcoming movie Wonderland led by miss A's Bae Suzy, Park Bo Gum, Choi Woo Shik, Jung Yu Mi, Tang Wei, and Nina Paw.
Gong Yoo made his acting debut in 2001 through the K-drama School 4. Since then, he has been active in both K-dramas and films. He is best known for being part of the works Goblin, Coffee Prince, Kim Ji Young: Born 1982, The Age of Shadows, Train to Busan, and more.
