Kim Ji Hoon is in talks to star in the fantasy historical K-drama Return to the Palace with BTOB's Yook Sung Jae and WJSN's Bona.
On June 24, media outlets reported that Kim Ji Hoon is returning to the historical K-drama genre after almost 15 years. Reports stated that Kim Ji Hoon will join the cast of the upcoming SBS K-drama Return to the Palace. It was also stated that the actor is already coordinating with the production team of the series.
The actor's representative hasn't responded to the casting reports yet.
If Kim Ji Hoon decides to join the K-drama, this will be his follow-up K-drama project after Death's Game Part 2 which was released early this year. In the series, he worked alongside Seo In Guk, Park So Dam, Nam Kyung Eup, Go Youn Jung, and Kim Mi Kyung.
Kim Ji Hoon is known for being part of the K-dramas Love to Hate You, Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area, Flower of Evil, Come! Jang Bo Ri, Flower Boy Next Door, and more.
Last year, Kim Ji Hoon also starred in the Netflix original movie Ballerina with Jeon Jong Seo, Park Yoo Rim, Shin Se Hwi, Kim Mu Yeol, and Park Hyung Soo.
Kim Ji Hoon will possibly work alongside confirmed main leads Yook Sung Jae and Bona. The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Yoon Sung Shik (Mr. Queen) and writer Yoon Soo Jung (Sassy Go Go).
Return to the Palace will tell the story of the eight ghosts who have a grudge against the King and a shaman who will fight against him.
There are no details yet on the role that was offered to Kim Ji Hoon.
Return to the Palace is set to premiere in 2025. It will exclusively air on SBS and will be included in their Monday and Tuesday K-drama timeslot.
