Lee Joong Ok joins Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young in a new crime romance K-drama
Lee Min Ki and Kim Ji Won will be working alongside Son Seok Koo and Lee El for the upcoming drama "My Liberation Diary"
On July 9th JTBC confirmed the main cast of their upcoming drama "My Liberation Diary". Lee Min Ki and Kim Ji Won, Son Seok Koo, and Lee El will lead the 2022 drama and they are set to start filming soon.
"My Liberation Diary" will narrate the story of three siblings who want to escape from their uncomfortable lives and a mysterious outsider who will go to their town. The upcoming drama will be helmed by Kim Seok Yoon ("Law School") and written by Park Hae Young ("My Mister"). This will be their fourth collaboration work after "I Live in Cheongdam-dong" and "Old Miss Diary" movie and drama version.
Lee Min Ki, Kim Ji Won, and Lee El will play the role of the three siblings. Lee Min Ki will play Yeom Chang Hee, the second eldest in the family and he's slow, doesn't have desires and dreams. Kim Ji Won will bring life to the character of Yeom Mi Jung, the introvert, blunt and timid youngest daughter. Her character desires to liberate herself from achromatic life. Lastly, Lee El will portray the role of the eldest daughter, Yeom Ki Jung. A workaholic who commutes from Gyeonggi Province to Seoul everyday. Her character desperately wants to love even once in her life. The mysterious person will be played by Son Seok Koo.
This drama will be Lee Min Ki's first project for 2022. He last starred in the 2021 drama "Oh My Ladylord" with After School's Nana. The actor will also appear in the upcoming movie "Three Days."
Kim Ji Won will finally return to television with this new JTBC drama. She was part of the 2020 KakaoTV (OTT platform) drama "Lovestruck in the City" with Ji Chang Wook. She is also expected to appear in the reported second season of "Arthdal Chronicles: Season 2."
For Lee El, this will be her comeback drama after 3 years. She was last seen in the 2019 drama "When the Devil Calls Your Name". The actress is set to star in the upcoming movies "She Died," "Heaven: To the Land of Happiness," and "The Angel Without, The Devil Within."
Son Seok Koo will be very busy in 2021 before he films for "My Liberation Diary." He will be part of the upcoming dramas "D.P." "Cliffhanger," and "Unframed."
