Jang So Yeon is confirmed to star alongside Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won in a new K-drama
Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin are confirmed to be the main leads of the upcoming historical k-drama "Lovers."
On January 13th, it was officially confirmed that Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin will star together in the upcoming new MBC k-drama.
This will be the return of Namkoong Min to MBC after two years. He was last seen on the broadcast channel through the k-drama "The Veil." Last year, Namkoong Min impressed everyone with his performance in the SBS k-drama "One Dollar Lawyer" with Kim Ji Eun, Choi Dae Hoon, Lee Deok Hwa, Park Jin Woo, and Gong Min Jung. Many are already anticipating the future works of the actor as he is known to star in interesting and fun k-dramas.
Aside from "Lovers," Namkoong Min will also reportedly return in the second season of "Doctor Prisoner."
Meanwhile, "Lovers" will be the third upcoming k-drama of Ahn Eun Jin for 2023. The actress is also set to star in the Netflix original k-drama "Goodbye Earth" and the JTBC comedy k-drama "Bad Mom" with Ra Mi Ran, Lee Do Hyun, Yoo In Soo, Seo Yi Sook, and Kim Won Hae.
Ahn Eun Jin will also star in the upcoming movie "Citizen Deok Hee" together with Ra Mi Ran, Gong Myung, Yeom Hye Ran, Jang Yoon Ju, and Park Byung Eun.
"Lovers" is a historical k-drama set in the Joseon era in the year of the Rat. It will tell the story of a man who has decided that he will not get married, and fall in love with a woman who believes in love once again after having two failed marriages.
The upcoming k-drama will be the collaboration work of director Kim Sung Yong ("The Veil") and writer Hwang Jin Young ("Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People" and "The King's Daughter, Soo Baek Hyang"). This will also be the reunion of director Kim Sung Yong and Namkoong Min.
Namkoong Min will play the role of Lee Jang Hyun. He is a mysterious person who suddenly appeared in Neunggeun Village’s high society. He seems playful at times but deep down he has a secret he can never tell.
Ahn Eun Jin on the other hand will play the role of Yoo Gil Chae. She comes from a good family. She believes that she is the center of everything and that she can conquer the love of men in the world. After experiencing a war and falling in love with a man, she will be more mature.
"Lovers" is set to air in the second half of 2023. The upcoming k-drama will exclusively air on MBC.
