“The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” Issues Apology after Viewers Point Out the DUI Scene
Park Ji Hoon and Hong Ye Ji are officially confirmed to lead the upcoming fantasy romance K-drama Fantasy Sonata.
On October 17, KBS confirmed that Park Ji Hoon and Hong Ye Ji would be working together on their new K-drama. The series will premiere in January 2024.
This will be the second upcoming K-drama of Park Ji Hoon for 2024. The actor is also set to lead the new season of Weak Hero Class 2. Before the year ends, Park Ji Hoon is also expected to lead the upcoming K-drama Bastard directed by Im Pil Sung (Scarlet Innocence, Persona, and Departure, Sun).
Meanwhile, this will be the debut of actress Hong Ye Ji on the small screen. The rookie actress will also join the upcoming K-dramas The Blue House Family and Summer Vacation. Hong Ye Ji started her acting career by appearing in the 2022 films 2037 and School Caste. Before she became an actress, the public first knew her as a participant in the survival program Produce 48.
Fantasy Sonata will revolve around a King with two opposite personalities and an assassin girl who wants him dead but falls in love with him. The K-drama will base its story on the webtoon Love Song for Illusion created by Vanziun.
It will be led by Park Ji Hoon, Hong Ye Ji, Ji Woo, Kim Dong Won, Shin Gi Hwan, and Hwang Hee
The upcoming K-drama will be directed by Lee Jung Sub (Dali and the Cocky Prince, Angel's Last Mission: Love, and Healer) and written by Yoon Kyung Ah (Homemade Love Story and Master of Study).
Park Ji Hoon will play the role of Prince Sajo and Akhi who had two personalities. This will be his first time to play two roles since his debut.
Hong Ye Ji on the other hand will play the role of Yeon Wol, a person who has a lot of unexpected things in her life. She will then become a concubine.
Fantasy Sonata will premiere in January next year and it will exclusively air on KBS.
