Based on the novel My Lovely Boxer by author Choo Jong Nam, which won the 2nd Kyobo Bookstore Story Contest, the drama revolves around the life of a disappeared genius boxer named Lee Kwon Sook and a ruthless agent named Kim Tae Young as they embark on a journey to escape the world of match-fixing.
Park Ji Hwan will portray Kim Oh Bok, the operator of a sports gambling site involved in match-fixing. While Kim Oh Bok maintains a polite demeanor on the surface, beneath that lies a character with no mercy or compassion. He drags pitcher Kim Hee Won (played by Choi Jae Woong) into the world of match-fixing and becomes a formidable villain who clashes with Kim Tae Young (played by Lee Sang Yeob) in an attempt to save Hee Won.

In the released stills on the 11th, Park Ji Hwan captivates viewers with his rapidly changing expressions. As the match-fixer Kim Oh Bok, he exudes an extraordinary presence with a stern expression in a shabby construction site while also evoking tension with his fierce gaze.
His stylish suits and colorful neckties also draw attention, adding to the grotesque atmosphere as he combines diverse fashion choices with his menacing gaze. Park Ji-hwan's new acting transformation has garnered attention as he showcases a different side of himself.
Park Ji Hwan, who made a notable impression on the public with his role as Jang I Soo in The Outlaws film series, has been actively engaging in various projects such as Hansan: Rising Dragon, A Violent Prosecutor, Asura: The City of Madness, and the drama "Our Blues." He has been showcasing his versatility both on the small screen and the big screen.

The production team of My Lovely Boxer praised Park Ji Hwan's seasoned acting skills, stating that he captivated everyone on set with his attention to detail, including facial expressions, eye movements, and gestures. They expressed their anticipation for Park Ji Hwan's passionate performance that fully embodies his character.

KBS2's new Monday-Tuesday drama My Lovely Boxer is set to premiere on August 21st at 9:45 PM KST, following the conclusion of Heartbeat.
