Popular webtoon "Omniscient Reader" confirmed its movie production and official cast!

The much-anticipated webtoon-based film Omniscient Reader confirmed its main cast!

On January 24, production company Smilegate announced the production of the upcoming movie Omniscient Reader. They also revealed the photos of the first script reading confirming the main leads of the webtoon-based film. 

 Omniscient Reader will revolve around Kim Dok Ja, a person who's trying to save the world from Apocalypse through the web novel he read. Kim Dok Ja is an average worker who loves to read his favorite web novel titled Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse. When the novel mysteriously comes alive, he is the only one who knows how the world will end. With this understanding, Kim Dok Ja will do his best to change the story and save the world. The story will be based on the web novel of the same name by Sing N Song.

The movie will be led by Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Min Ho, Chae Soo Bin, After School's Nana, Shin Seung Ho, BLACKPINK's Kim Ji Soo, Park Ho San, and more. 

According to Smilegate, the production and filming have already begun. 

The upcoming star-studded movie will be helmed by  Kim Byung Woo who created the films Take Point and The Terror Live. 

 Omniscient Reader will be the first film to be produced by Smilegate Realize which was created by Smilegate and Realize Pictures. Reports stated that Smilegate actively participated in the early stages of planning and production such as securing rights to the webtoon, casting, and more.

Lee Min Ho will give life to the character named Yoo Joong Hyuk, the main character in the novel. It will be the grand comeback of Lee Min Ho to the movie scene after nine years. 

Ahn Hyo Seop will portray the role of Kim Dok Ja, the only one who knows the ending of the novel. This will be his debut on the big screen. 

Chae Soo Bin will play the role of Yoo Sang Ah, a former colleague of Kim Dok Ja. After School's Nana will play the role of Jung Hee Won, who will act as a goddess of justice. BLACKPINK's Kim Ji Soo on the other hand will portray the role of Lee Ji Hye, a colleague who will be with Yoo Joong Hyuk in overcoming crisis after crisis. 

Shin Seung Ho will portray the role of Lee Hyun Sung, a former soldier with strong defense. 

Omniscient Reader will be filming throughout the year and according to reports, the upcoming movie will be released in 2025.
