Exactly.
Vicky:making all this comparisons and expecting it to be identical seems unnecessary to me, because if you wanted the same thing from the original, you can always go to watch the chinese one
THIS
Why continue to complain when everyone knows the korean remake isn't word for word, episode by episode of the OG.
What I'd like to see, though my want is in no way a factor in the writer's decision, is for the misconstrued 'love triangle' in the OG changed in this remake. An alternative route that leads to Hae Jun being an official member of the family. She's already added conflict between Hae Jun and San Ha by Hae Jun misunderstanding the dynamics between San Ha and his mother. So, a bit more change wouldn't hurt, unless it's included so here too it can be misconstrued to generate greater viewership through controversy, which leads to profits.
LucyL:Exactly.

First of all, the love triange was perfect in the Chinese version.
Second of all, remakes are created to be judged according to the original, you can't expect fans accepting the trashy thing they are doing here in this remake. Added conflict, where? the ""conflict"" and they are too smiley and happy like clowns?
They transformed a slice of life full of traumas, real life, bonding because of those traumas, melancholy even in smiles, in a fluffy ridiculous thing starting from the cringe sissy FL, and do you really think fans won't complain? We want the same trauma and despair, the basic of the original.
Chinese Empress:Second of all, remakes are created to be judged according to the original
No, they're not. A remake is created because the produce, or director, or writer LOVED the original they wanted to remake it within their own country.
Chinese Empress:Added conflict, where?
I checked your profile to see whether you were watching this and I still question why you wouldn't recognize The Conflict in the Remake as opposed to the OG. In the Remake it was written into the drama. The OG didn't have this conflict. You profess Only Jdrama and Cdrama
Jpop and Cpop World Domination
Jdramas and Cdramas are life, the only real drama in this world
Chinese Empress:and do you really think fans won't complain?
Why complain at all when Remakes draw attention to the originals, and viewers watch the originals. In turn, Thank you to all the fans of the OG for drawing more attention to the Remake!!!
Chinese Empress:We want the same trauma and despair
Well, dear, guess what, I have a want for the remake too, and no amount of wants will change this Remake into the OG.
Complaining is pointless, if the complainers think they'll have any influence. It's blowing into the wind. Before watching, most MDL users read the synopsis, the cast list, Tags, Genres, and the DETAILS which is in the top right corner. The Episodes: 16 already alluded to significant changes from the OG so to fit into that limited number of episodes.
Chinese Empress:Added conflict, where? the ""conflict"" and they are too smiley and happy like clowns?
I feel like we are watching two different dramas. First of all, they are not having a good time, since this drama started, this kids didn't have a day of rest, like Hajun has been abandoned by both parents and Sanha keeps getting blamed for his sister's death by the person who should be his guardian. I love the original and I actually think that the first part of go ahead was not as traumatic as this one, because we had more episodes, we got to see more of the family dynamic and their everyday life, and it was more cheerful in my opinion. Because this one has less episodes, they had to rush some storylines, and I think they are doing a good job with it. Would I like to see more everyday life without crying one episode? yes, but it's probably not gonna happen. But I won't try to prove that this drama is good because you already seem to made up your mind, but at least make valid arguements to say you don't like it. Because blaming the fl for being too girly and that they are not suffering enough for your likeness are not it.
people that claim they are not happy in their remake are too brainwashed because of u***liness of the cast, and their non-existent talent. Fans can complain when the remake is totally different from the original story, you can cry like a child but deal with it, fans will always complain when the remake does not stick to the original.
No matter if they read synopsis and so on, the original is the basis and they should stick to it. Here is MDL most of people are complaining, and they are in the right.
This adaptation is the most cringe and stupid since moon lovers an mr queen time.
" they are not having a good time, since this drama started, this kids didn't have a day of rest ".
Where? their bond is non existent, they are not even friends at all, not even thinking about family. FL is unbearable sissy and very close to ridiculous, while the original is a reasonable tomboy. §
The boys... did you notice they always smile? in the original they won't ever smile. And people still say they are suffering? if you suffer, you cry, you don't smile.
Me and a lot of fans want the suffering of the original, that this cringe trashy garbage adaptation and newbie actors can't even provide.
We want the sad atmosphere 100%. Even with Sanha's sister, they like the right portrayal. 2ML is too out of character apologising, when he should be like a cat.
We are analysing the drama comparing everything with the original.
And don't let me start with the unbearable portrayal of the adults not even close to the original an so bland a 2yo can act even better than them.
So please, rather than being druggend and blind because you have to defend this cringe, analyse the drama like we are doing. Because your critics about the complaining are invalid.
I will stick to the end of this because i want to see at what extent they will ruin it.
People that can bear sad ending are the most immature children in the world.
You regurgitating the same over and over and over and over and over isn't going to change the Remake one iota. The Remake isn't going to suddenly change into the OG. Give it a rest. Your're yelling in an empty room.
Chinese Empress:People that can bear sad ending are the most immature children in the world.
Actually it's the complete opposite. Adults are able to bear great sadness in their lives. Whereas, immature children think constant complaints will change the direction of a 16 Episode drama into a 40 Episode drama. It's the same as a child laying on the floor kicking and screaming when they've been told no.
Beyond your last point, your comments are being taken as harassment. You're intimidation to change viewpoints is falling on deaf ears.

Everyone to its own opinion, but harassment is criticising people when analysing in depth a drama, a remake, when you are not doing the same. People are NOT simply watching it but analysing it and comparing it with the original.
Everyone is entitled to have its own opinion, of course, but you should think people expect something different from a remake, and they analyse, compare, watch the in-depth and inner depth details of both, to compare and analysing. That's the reason why the majority here is deeply disappointed.
People only caring for unknown actors in this adaptation are the one harassing fans of the original that cared deeply about the depth of the original plot, and people only caring for the cast mostly never watched the original ( you can check MDL comments). And those people dared to create a fuss.
So please respect people deeply disappointed here, because yes, we ask for a manly tomboy girl, not for a princess, and yes, it's an understandable critic based on reasoning and analysing from the original.
But well, if you think the original is a princess, it's up to you.
But people that only care about actors, never watching the original and criticising us, are the most untrustworthy. Go ahead is not the cup of tea for fluffy romance or lighthearted things like usual kdramas ( should i say every kdrama), so it's up to you to avoid watching it, not the fans of the original.
It goes both ways. People who are tuning into this drama and learning it's an adaptation will be curious and may want to look into the original and people who have seen the original may want to watch this one to see how it is being adapted. As big as the original was, it's not as if everyone who watches dramas have seen the original. There are more people that can learn about the original and add it to their watchlist. Both dramas will benefit one another.
@ Chinese Empress:
What you are doing is beyond analyzing a drama. You don't just contentiously criticize a drama but you are also literally insulting and attacking people who doesn't agree with you by saying things like people who defend this drama has "very low standards" and can "accept any trash they find". I understand the original is dear to you and comparison is inevitable but no need to get so upset over an adaptation. Just move on from it if it's not to your liking.
Guys listen, this is supposed to be a friendly discussion, I think you are all taking this a little too seriously, it's just a show guys. tone it down a notch. Criticism is fine especially when remaking a show of as much calibre and fan-backing as Go Ahead, but still you must all understand it's just a show and it's just a remake, those who can enjoy it, should. And those who can't should not call anything "trash" because a lot of people must have worked really hard to get FBC where it is right now. Again, it is just a show. It is meant to just be entertaining

what? in 2024 people still never watched Go ahead? it's so cringe not knowing Go ahead.
aannngggg512:Remakes draw attention to the OG? when it's the other way around. Why would producer or show runners do adaptation this early other than getting attentions from OG fans, quick cash grab, and easier to develop script.
Go Ahead was sooooo big it doesn't need FBC, not the other way around
agree on this

Clearly it benefited more on FBC's end than Go Ahead, but FBC barely portray the warmness and the closeness of Go Ahead's family, at the very least stick to the title, "Family By Choice" or the literal translation of Korean title "Fabricated Family" when the five of them (Yun Jung Jae, Kim Dae Uk, Kim San Ha, Kang Hae Jun, Yun Ju Won) barely felt like family of five. If they want to do an adaptation the bare minimum was not changing the spirit of the original drama. If they want to focus on romance more than family and slice of life there were plenty of good Chinese youth dramas to adapt
