Does anyone know why Chinese variety shows only allow one microphone through at a time? What I mean is, unlike Korean and Japanese variety shows, Chinese shows leave out background noise.
So, if there is any laughter or side comments the viewer cannot hear them; however, there are added sound effects. Is there a technical reason for this method, or is it more appealing to their Chinese audience, as most Chinese dramas are dubbed?
Also, I am sure this might not be the case for all Chinese variety shows.
