Kunwu is already dead. He is not KJP but the empty chair in the poster. 

Spoiler guess: KJP is the second half of the picture with YZM. He pretends to be Kunwu and dies as Kunwu. This convinces the Japanese that the Changsha army believes their fake intelligence is real. He is a deeply hidden CPC asset.

Wow i am liking this spoiler theory. It would be a masterpiece plot if its true. It links and ties everything up together. Explains everything i was confused before.

Lol - I think the plot needs one more twist bc Kunwu was revealed a bit early. So even if it is something different, as long as it ties up everything nicely I will be happy with it.
