1.Worlds Apart i like female centered plots and this is a relationship of an aunt-niece living together after the sister she hated aka the niece's mother died. It's really well done.
2.Flawed characters that are likeable are very interesting (not looking at you ML of Dear Hyeri) that's why i really liked Percent because the FLmakes mistakes while trying her best, she is likeable and the story is short and interesting without dragging.

@LouM: sorry, I edited the topic after you posted (and added second half of 2024)  but as I was late and it was my fault, I’ll still count your 2 entries! thanks for adding them :)

3. Happy of the End (I like characters with flaws and dramas that portray the struggle and hardships of life (but still have a happy end). therefore I really liked this drama! Plus in my eyes, japanese dramas more often than not are able to hit on a more emotional level)

4. hidamari ga kikoeru - I even read the Manga before starting so I have a better sense of what's going on and loved every second of this drama. the story was full of emotion in the best way possible .

5. high-school return of a gangster (not sure if it counts cause it ended in the second half but started airing at the end of May so you decide) - LOVED it. wasn't sure I will but the plot was interesting and the topic was done very good in my opinion tho not so realistic (obviously). it was a great watch!

6. The On1y One - honestly, I'm a sucker for stories where you can practically see how much the leads love each other, even without it being a verbal proclamation. It was rollercoaster of emotions watching this, and though it can be on the slower, introspective side of drama watching, I highly recommend

Ooh.. I loved Hidamari ga Kikoeru too.. just everything about it

7. Are You the One - funny, romantic, with strong and capable main characters, uses cliche tropes but they handle them very well

Actually want to write this. A really nice drama.

8. Drawing Closer Jun 27, is it okay?

I really love the way Japanese create their movie/drama. Especially when it's about terminal illness. It's portrayed beautifully and full of deep meaning. Like, "We should live life to the fullest. We should try our hardest to survive. We should live positively."

So far, all entries count :)

9. Meet You at the Blossom (for me, it’s a very precious gem, because it’s a glimpse in a world where Chinese censorship doesn’t exist ;_; ❤️  The first episode might be a bit slow, but overall it’s a nice representation of all the good chinese bl novels out there )

Hi :) of course everyone can play! there is a theme (10 dramas/movies that..) and everyone can list matching dramas/movies (each person can only list 3 per theme). If you listed the 10th entry, you can choose the next topic.

I’m not very good in explaining, but you can read the rules/introduction of the game on the first page of this forum.

current topic is:

10 dramas/movies from the second half of 2024 that you liked and would recommend (Please add why you liked the drama/movie)
note: the drama should be complete/already finished  (and not currently airing!)

This was soooo good!

10. Takara no Vidro  A quirky JBL where a naive country guy (Taishin) follows another guy (Takara) to college after meeting him once. Takara is very popular and is part of the hiking club. Taishin also joins the hiking club, not only because of Takara, but he truly enjoys nature. These two opposites find more in common and Takara finds himself drawn to Taishin. Their energy don't seem to match but, to Takara, Taishin's eyes sparkle, just like the glass marbles he collects.
