Welcome

I'm watching Blossom (2024) and it's really good. It's on Viki (up to ep 6) and iQIYI, as well as WeTV.

Blossom looks very promising, yesterday I told my colleague to watch it.

I'm currently watching Deep Lurk until episode 28, while also catching up with several airing dramas.

Deep Lurk is a completed 38-episodes suspense-espionage period drama with Cheng Yi and Ying Er as the leads. It's very thrilling, heartwrenching, and exciting. Avoid the drama page as not to read any spoiler, I'm expecting a big surprise.

I started The Story of Pearl Girl some time ago and got up to EP 16, and then stalled for weeks. I tried to continue watching but it's not working out. I think it's a well-made drama and a great story, but it's too heavy and serious for my mental state rn. I have it on hold for the time-being.

Now that the winter season is here (and shorter days), I have to deal with a mild case of SAD, not to mention the holiday blues.

So I watched Nancheng Banquet and I enjoyed it so much. It has a great balance of comedy, romance, and action, all rolled into a decent story, and not too serious. It's not a masterpiece, but for me it was the perfect choice. I'd like to find more dramas like that.

If anyone can rec similar dramas I'd be more than thrilled! I'll take modern dramas too. Whatever I need to get through the season!  <3

I once plan to watch The Story of Pearl Girl but it aired when I'm still watching Fangs of Fortune (already completed it but it's BE just like my initial prediction) so I just put it on my ptw but then my colleague who I told to watch it first said a few negative comments like your thoughts about it so I deleted it from my ptw list.

I love giving out recommendation, not exactly similar in terms of comedy (reading Nancheng Banquet's synopsis), but I completed Secret of Shadow Sects recently, it's a 24-episodes 8-15 minutes drama about a graduated student from shadow sect (like assasins academy) who apply the job as bodyguard for a woman who owns a pleasure house (or similar) but actually he was assigned to stole something like inner power manual from this woman but there's a lot of plot twist. I really like it. There's also a lot of skinships and romantic scenes and a lot more assasins coming their way :)

I don't mean to put anyone off from watching Pearl Girl!  :-)

No, no, actually if one like female empowerement drama, The Story of Pearl Girl is a great choice.

I also don't mean to prevent anyone from watching it.
