Just finished Sugar Dog Life and all I can say is that I LOVED IT! It's just so cute and adorable. It's the perfect breather show when you're tired from watching plot or emotion heavy dramas. I liked it so much that I reviewed the show. The show is like cotton candy❤️

I just finished watching too— like 2 minutes ago lol— it was adorable. I’m going to miss them.

Sugar Dog Life - I just watched EP 3 and since the eps are short I might finish tonight. The two MLs are really cute together. I'm digging the cop for sure.

While watching I realized another "thing" about J-dramas that I don't care much about. It's neither good or bad, but just my preference.

FOOD!!!

So many dramas have convos and "feeling" centered around food and feeding someone food. I'm sure it must be a cultural thing. I can't relate to food on such a deep level as I see depicted in J-dramas. At times I feel impatient when it's the ONLY thing talked about and the main basis for a relationship connection. Like, really?

And in this case, the possible romantic interest (on the cop's side) reminds him of his mother!! Say what?

Yes, yes...I'm watching a J-BL, my least fav. I'll keep going though.

 RXinw:

This is so real. Even the side couple that gave me energy to watch now annoys me lol

I guess this is my answer to continue watching MND or not...so NOT!!

 American Fan:
FOOD!!!

I screamed omg isn't this RXinw's thing (am I remembering correctly?)

Edit. soulmates

Bad Guy My Boss - episode 3

"Some sweet day, I'm going away

I’m going to leave this world
No more to roam
Some sweet day,
When life is over
Some sweet day,
I’m going away"

Why am I singing this old Jamaican gospel?  After each episode my will to live decreases......significantly! Is there anyone who is actually loving this series? Can you tell me what you like about it because maybe I am the problem. Yes, I am the cause of all that is wrong in the world; global warming, yup that's me, war yup also me, world hunger also me because I am sucking the life out of others to replenish my will to live after each horrific experience that is each of these episodes. This is only episode 3 and I find more entertainment waiting in a KFC line on a FRIDAY! Great, just great, now I am yelling, using my already sore throat. I hope that..........*deep breaths* let me go watch Love Sick.

Ditto, triple exclamation point.

My one minor complaint is the hazy cinematography thing that the Japanese like so much.

As to the food porn, I'm fine with it so long as they don't try to pass off pimped instant noodles as haute cuisine (not-so-subtle dig at "Aki wa Haru to Gohan wo Tabetai").

I really liked :

Sugar Dog Life, Takara’s Treasure, and Hidamari Ga Kikuero— kudos to jbl this month

The Trainee was a great show, but like everyone has said, it wasn’t a BL per say

Agree - these three JBLs were really special, each in its own unique and original way.

I would describe "The Trainee" as a comedy with a BL sub-plot, but in any case, I also quite liked it.

It's a pity that it didn't have a official international release though.

I just don't understand why the Japanese are sometimes not interested in international releases (or at least not until later, as an afterthought). Don't they want the easy extra money? Grrrr.

 American Fan:
I put Monster Next Door on hold. Does anyone rec that I finish it

I'm still really enjoying it, even though it's admittedly slow and has some flaws, but I think we've established that my standards are lower than yours. Thus, if you like something, I almost surely will, too - but not necessarily vice versa.
