Having said that, in the context of enjoying something that always gets a 'pfft' out of people, what I enjoy and actually practise is tarot and astrology, the last collection of books I didn't mention yesterday lol 

I find this quite interesting. I am always a little intrigued when I read something relating to these things and they actually are accurate about traits of mine.

I went to 16Personalities for a fairly short free test. I like their site and the results seem to be pretty in depth.  I've wondered what my "label" was, but not to the point of doing anything about it.

I will have to take one of these. I will probably share my results here.

August BL Group Challenge - Day 8 - What is your guilty pleasure? Any vices?

Didn't think I'd post for this but I think mine counts? Not sure lmao.

Since everyone talked about coffee and drinking, I enjoy both lmao, especially coffee, but apple beer or anything lemon is my fav alcohol wise.

As for my guilty pleasure, I guess mine would be re-reading the manga "The cornered mouse dreams of cheese". It's a more explicit manga, but it's a fav of mine, and I love their unique dynamic and story very much. Imagase is obsessed and would go anything for Otomo and I love that about him. It has topics of blackmail and obsession and infidelity, and semi-soulmate stuff, and I enjoy reading all of those topics lmao. There is a live-action drama based off of the two books, and it's pretty good, I would say, it's better to read the manga first cause you get more insight on the main character Otomo since the LA doesn't include any of his inner monologue, and he's the kind of guy to say and think completely different things. 

I'm a frequent re-reader love BL mangas, but I have so many unread on my shelf cause I always go back to rereading my faves. When I feel like reading someone familiar, my go to is TCMDC. 

The author of this manga is also my fav in general, I love her art style and a manga of hers thats semi-BL is "After School Nightmare", im about 5/10 volumes in and I love it! It talks about more gender/sexuality stuff.

First of all, I LOVE My School President. It's not an exaggeration when I say it's my favorite Thai BL. I've rewatched it genuinely 30-40 times in full, I love GemFot, even in general, it's my top 3 BLs of all time. Saying all that... I've dropped My Love Mix-Up TH so many times, and thats so frustrating. Not because I don't like GemFot anymore, but two main factors go into play:

1) The MSP references.

-I recall in the first 4 eps I watched of MLM(TH) them doing the hand sign for "I Love You" like in MSP multiple times, and it being a blatant reference to MSP. All that does for me is remind me of my favorite show, and how incompatible this show is to that show. I wish they more so separated the two franchises, so I can focus on this new couple rather than think of a show I like more. 

2) The Japanese original series.

-Ok.... I LOVE THE ORIGINAL SO MUCH! Michi plays Aoki and he's literally my favorite, doesn't help that he's the reason I got in Naniwa Danshi (a band he's a member of), and now it's one of my top J-Pop bands. I know I shouldn't compare the two but, I prefer the original so when I watch the new one, I'm not thinking about what's going on but, just the original.

-On top of that, even the side characters (Hashimoto and Akkun) are my favorites! I loved that side couple just as much as the main couple, and in the TH version they don't really stand out as much. I know I haven't finished it but, doesn't make me want to keep watching.

-I will say, they casted Hashimoto in the TH version very well, they resemble each other very much with their expressions, just to be more positive AHHH...


ANYWAYS I feel like thats super silly but idk, I'm so greatly attached to MSP so I want to watch their new show but I can't help but drop it. Not even that I don't like seeing them in different projects cause them in Moonlight Chicken was AMAZING, but since both of their recent roles were school based and have similar dynamics, it's hard to separate them.

No need to apologise, all serious opinions welcome here. And I also have mixed feelings about MLMU: While there are lots of things  I like about it, I keep questioning whether this is a remake of a great original that didn't need remaking.

I just finished watching the final ep, and I'm so emotionally drained. I can't adequately describe in proper words just how incredible this series was. The entire cast was phenomenal, Daou's and Offroad's performances were legendary just like San & Vee's love. Everyone that was part of the entire production team and behind the scenes from start to finish made a masterpiece. This one will hold a special place in my heart. I truly love this series.

Your opinion is always welcomed even encouraged; matter of fact your post is the final nail in the coffin for my decision. I did not start My Love Mix-Up Thai remake because I had my own scepticism about it so I waited on reviews. The reviews here as well as the views of other BL fans I have spoken to in my DMs had me even more sceptic of this series. Based on this and your post I have decided to strike My Love Mix - Up (Thai) from my watch list making it the only BL, I am aware of, that I have not watched or plan to watch. 

On another note, I have yet to start Jazz for Two but I do plan to start it tonight after watching Century of Love finale, Meet You At The Blossom and Monster Next Door. I have also decided to hold off a little longer on watching My Stand-In reason being there are a few other series I would like to clear off my watch list before summer finishes so that I do not carry them over into 2025 because believe me when October hits I will have little time to be here and watching BLs hence why I am taking on so many currently airing BLs.

I like to keep my drama watching opinions to this discussion board because I never feel attacked for my opinions, even when people disagree with me. It's all good natured. We like what we like, and engage with the content that interests us.

August Challenge Day 8

What is your guilty pleasure? Any vices?
My guilty pleasures are cookies. Cookies of just about any kind, but especially any kind of chocolate cookie, dark chocolate, and Chocolate Cookie Quarry frozen yogurt. There really isn't much that I consider a guilty pleasure other than those.

As for vices, I don't have any. I don't like gambling, don't like liquor, I detest cigarette smoke or smoking anything, don't touch any drugs of any kind ever because I never wanted to do it(but also, have lost several friends from/since high school from substance abuse and seeing my gay community continue to suffer from higher rates  of substance abuse also). But, enough of that, not trying to tank the vibes. I guess I'm a bit of a unicorn on this as I have been told.

P.S. For those not familiar with the four-letter codes for the various characters, these are personality types based on the Myers-Briggs test. It's mainly the first one (extrovert/introvert) that's relevant here.

Oh really? Because I was a little interested in that actor but I hated all but the lead in my stand in LOL perhaps I should give Lovely writer a go :)

Also a queer media forum should be the last place you should be scared to share your opinion. I quickly realised I'm the serial dropper and I'm still here so don't worry LOL
