Why do Chinese Dramas misuse these English words in dramas, is it due to dubbing?

Just curious, as while watching these dramas regardless movies or shows, notice many times call wives husban instead,, call he as she, and use terms brothers and sisters for both spouses, family and friends? is that normal Chinese usage, or just when being dubbed?
