Although they had stopped updating it, the old Dramacool website was still accessible. This was great as it was a treasure trove of old dramas. However, I think that it has gone completely. I have tried to access it but get nothing. Perhaps, it is just my system. Have others had the same problem?

Yeah it's gone for good.

Something is up and claiming to be Dramacool under several TLDs that I haven't seen them use before. Some uploads are dated from this month.

It won't last.  As long as they're stealing brand new content the corporate copyright hounds will hunt them down. If they only had fansubs of unreleased doramas they'd still be under the radar.

@TimiZero: thank you for confirming the really bad news. Now, the question is how many of the fee-charging services have much of a back-catalogue, and how much am I prepared to pay.

@isang18: I have seen that site but it does not appear to have any old programmes. For context, over the Christmas and New Year holidays, I watched City Hunter (2011) and Lovers in Prague (2005) using the Dramacool "old" site.

Alternatively, googling the name of any particular drama might help as well. I'm sure it will be somewhere online as long as it's a popular one, whether on filehost (streamable or not) or torrent. But of course I can't guarantee its existence and you might have to know the title you want to search beforehand.

I appreciate the suggestion. I think I will be doing some researching and hunting this weekend.

Use alternate search engines not powered by Bing or Google. Yandex, for example, does not filter "naughty" hits to the extent that the US-based services do.

I have not used Yandex before but will give it a try. My normal search engine is DuckDuckGo.

After the shutdown, Dramacool has reemerged with new domain extensions. The platform is now accessible through Dramacool.bg and Dramacool.sr, which have become the leading websites for streaming a vast collection of dramas. These domains offer an extensive library, covering nearly every drama available, ensuring that users continue to have access to their favorite content.

Now dramacool is available in new domain Dramacool.lat with all of its back-catalogue and latest updates.

Thank you for this.

The original DC, Dramacool, was especially appreciated by me for their huge catalogue of old dramas and movies. I did not care that much about the newer ones, since I have several (paid) possibilities to watch what I like of the recent productions. Unfortunately, I have not yet found an alternative possibility to for old dramas and movies (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong) online. If you have found it, please share. Woudn´t it be great if DC would come back as a site with an enormous archive for older and old (subbed) Asian dramas and films. I would not mind to pay a reasonable subscription fee for a service like that, or pay per view.

damn, it was when my son was real young maybe 2010 or 12 and i was super into anime and became interested in J Doramas because they were peripherally related. and i could find all of it and i deveoloped a bro crush Kimu Taku. i binge watched everything he had done at the time and i could find it all. i took it for granted. if ain't on netflix or amazon i can't even find it. i can't even find the new stuff he has made.

being korean i'm glad to see k content flex so hard especially with netflix showcasing the k content. but with OG dramacaool gone its hard to find older stuff but bc its become so popular there seems to be more K content around then anything else other than anime. its a shame there isn't more J Dramas around.

good enough to have GTO 98 & 2012, S2 & S7 of Doctor X, J Drama Hero S1 2001 & S2 2014.

its an ok complement to whatever is out there but a small fraction of what it was back in the day
