Hidden romance

Hello fellow drama lovers!

I'm a big fan of romantic south korean, chinese and taiwanese dramas. I'm watching The Untamed at the moment (and loving it so far) and stumbled over the tag "hidden romance". Is it a hidden love story in the drama or does it mean it's more than a bromance but nothing ever happens because being gay is taboo? Can anyone enlighten me? :)
