i agree the tofu sashimi thing is weird *shrug* but i guess you never know what you'll find in a sushi restaurant not run by Japanese people ^__^

LOL I guess its weird for me because my mom cooks old school Japanese food that has been passed down through the family.

They are chocolate/cookie snacks.

The only thing that İ know about japanese food is the fact that İ'll die of hunger in Japan.
Of course if İ ever get the chance to get to Japan.

İ tried Ramen twice and nearly puked both times.
The taste is not my cup of tea.

Did you try fresh ramen or the prepackaged, dry kind? definitely don't judge all japanese food by Top Ramen. It doesn't even taste the same as the ones you can get from the Asian market, which still aren't a good example of japanese food in its entirety.

Tell us a few of the foods that you like and maybe we can suggest a recipe for you to try :)

@Skye--pocky is perfect. I've only ever tried strawberry, two different kinds though. Idk how they get the perfect balance of cookie shape and distribution of icing. Yummmm.

Hmmmm I really love Japanese food, especially cooking it! (Although lately I've been trying to cook more Korean foods to keep my hubby on his toes LOL - I like to make him guess the recipes country of origin)

Anyway back on subject when we're out at a bar or pub I love snacking on edamame and yakitori! It's so nice with beer. Heh Heh. But for meals I love Teriyaki dishes, Katsudon, chicken Omurice, and tonkatsu. I'm dying to try some hotpot style food too.
