Hana Kimi Remake

So there has been a lot of gossip about the Hana Kimi remake, but I am not sure there is a thread dedicated to it. I figured we could post everything we hear here.

My first tidbit: AKB48 members have been added to the cast--

Wait, this is a Japanese remake??

I don't know why though, but I thought it was going to be a Korean version...

Here's a picture of what I suppose the female lead will look like. I dunno about this casting choice......maybe I'm just stuck with the image of Horikita Maki as Mizuki (I think that was her name). Perhaps when the show starts I'll judge her acting first. But for now, I'm not feeling it.

The actors are Nakamura Aoi as Sano Izumi, and Miura Shohei as Nakatsu Shuichi. They'll be working alongside Maeda Atsuko.

I don't know any of those actors -_- so I hope they are able to play their parts well. I loved Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu in the original, I dunno how he can be replaced -_- I hope the show is a little closer to the manga since they are doing this

They're also making a Korean version, although I haven't been able to find any details on who the cast is going to be. And ditto, I'm not really feeling it right now. The original only came out 4 years ago, it's a bit early to make a remake.

I totally agree about not really liking her look. She doesn't look androgynous enough for me. She looks like a girl with short hair. That's it.

Wow! She looks just like Horikita Maki, the director is stuck with her image, I think.
And I'm now wandering, why the Japanese remake? The Koreans are doing it this year too, right? Why is everybody suddenly so crazy about Hana Kimi (maybe everybody suddenly realized what a GREAT manga it is)
Well, whatever, I'll watch both, the Japanese one with more criticism, as it;s their manga (my favourite one) and if they're remaking it, it's their responsibility to make it closer to the book and better then the last on (though I doubt it)...

I know! I don't think it's that the guys are bad looking (the guy playing Sano has the hairstyle like Sano from the manga), but you can't compete with the original cast! It's going to be hard to like it because the original was so good and memorable. I'm nervous about watching it when it comes out -_-

Yeah.... I am worried most about the casting choice too. I will do my best to watch it but have a feeling that it will not be up to par. And with SM doing the Korean Vers. it looked ike nothing but Super Junior Members in it??? Seriously? Do people not have to audition any more. If your famouse and can speak the languge that is enough?

There will be Japanese REMAKE and Korean VERSION this summer.
*hopes that SMENT will put Amber to main role*

I also hope that Japanese version would have different character names since we've seen the "story of Ashiya Mizuki"

I agree. If they just attempt to re-make the same story I thik it will be a fail. So am hoping for a new storyline.

I've never read the manga. Is there another story line? I'm just not sure how they'll write another story about a girl who sneaks into an all boys high school without it being too much like the original. Then we'd end up with a situation like Gokusen.

True. Thats one of their challenges they are going to have to face with this remake.. I just know I don't want to watch the same Hana Kimi story with a cast that can't hold a flame to the original.
