I think the helicopter "joke" and the conversation in the car about the meaningful beverages were about the only good/okay scenes in this episode but other than that? There's not much to praise, really.
I didn't like the way Gi Joon was showing off his power and connections and language skills and winning Ah Jung to his side that way. I've seen it before so many times but somehow it just annoyed me this time. And the scenes with Western actors - so stupid somehow. (Actually I hate watching the scenes with Western actors in every other drama, too, since those scenes are always so stiff and unnatural that it's hard to watch them.) Even the getting-to-know-each-other conversation about dead parents was quite boring. The final dinner scene, on the other hand, was too sugarish to my liking. Yes, Ah Jung's dress was pretty but the scene felt so stiff and too grand and ceremonious for this couple. The whole scene was very slow-paced and simply lacking the electricity and chemistry - something that was in missing in many other scenes of this episode as well. The dialogue wasn't that great either.
Despite my disappointment I'm still looking forward to the subs for ep 12. Maybe I was too harsh and this episode had some good in it - if so, please remind me of that because I'm just feeling very disappointed right now and I, too, want to ask the writers: "What did you do?!"
I agree--this (what I bolded) bothered me as well, but for a different reason. I don't think he was trying to show off to Ah Jung in a shallow attempt to sway her; I think he was genuinely trying to help her accomplish the task assigned to her, and did so the best way he knew how, which was to do the macho business networking thing with golf and power talk, etc. My problem with it was that he seemed so patronizing, very "Now now, little woman, let the men talk and do business---don't get in the way and everything will turn out right." I mean, like, dude, we've already seen during the whole international conference fiasco at your resort that Ah Jung is more than capable of doing her job, so LET HER DO IT. I get that he was trying to open the door for her, but he just completely took over, leaving Ah Jung to trail after him with her paper load. Until she finally put her foot down and decided to take charge. Blegh. That showed up Gi Joon a bit, but still... Annoyed.
On a more superficial note, I think I'm the only person who didn't drool over that dress, at least with the way it fit her---Yoon Eun Hye looked like she was drowning in it. =/
