now stir in the fact that alot of female roles in korean drama dont have a lot of depth to begin with... well you get the idea. even though the idea of her character in Gu family book is great, thus far her character isnt even really about HER, but rather the men in her life. exactly how real and how compelling is a young actress with little experience supposed to make a character that is written in such a way that she does not so much as breath with out it directly relating to Kon, Kang Chi or her father?
I didn't watch any drama with Kim Tae Hee but I don't think this is a question of comparing actresses.
In the past episodes, her pronunciation and tone were bad, her face was emotionless even in scenes with a lot of tension or relevance, I agree with the "plain character" factor in some degree but that is not an excuse that explain her acting in all the scenes, For example:

like the scene where she sees Kang Chi and Cheong Jo, the death of Cheong Jo's father or when Kang Chi saves her by injuring himself.
If she lacks experience they should had other lead actress with a proper level of acting. But I can't change the situation, so I hope she can do better in the next episodes ( Han Ga In did that in some scenes of the moon that embraces the sun so imposible is nothing)
