Jumong is epic and sweeping and has gotten tons of critical and popular raves. But I'm really with Lis on this one. Maybe 81 episodes are just too daunting for me. Maybe I can only handle Sauguk-lite (Sauguks that are 30 eps or less) but I dropped this like it was hot...Even knowing it probably was a good loooooong show.

Crime Squad is gritty and started out great. I was really interested in the set up of a crime solved a week with the undercurrent of the new relationship (whether it turned romantic or not!) with the up and coming journalist helping him solve the crimes. but somewhere around episode 10 or 11 it sort of lost me. I put it on hold and I don't think I have dropped it yet.

A Man Called God...God his hair was poo in that. All I remember is that his hair was poo. And his leading lady said the name "Michael" over and over in this really annoying way. How did I finish this?

Anyway...Fermentation Family...I'm still going to give you a watch and a chance. We'll see!!!

If you want a short sageuk then I recommend you Kingdom of the winds. I know you said only 30eps or less, but 36 episodes aren't so much. ;) It is considered the sequel of Jumong but actually there's no connection between the stories except the fact that the main character is the grandson of Jumong.
I have to agree your opinion about Crime Squad.. It lost me at that episode too but finally I could complete it and I think that somehow it wasn't that bad. He is the best in sageuks but his modern dramas aren't so good but it's not because of him but the writing.
I'm happy that you're going to give a chance to Fermentation Family.:)

I started Vampire Prosecutor without knowing anyone and it didn't dissapoint me. :P
i think Kotw will not also work for noona jeanie coz as far as i know... kotw is uber inferior to jumong.....

so i think this kotw will be snorer for her :)

Oppa...I think you might be right...But Im also pretty sure its on my list. Just way way way down the list of priorities!.

About Fermentation Family:

I watched the 1st episode that was put up at Dramafever. There were some things I liked and things I didn't like. There was a disjointedness to the set up. I'm not sure how to articulate or explain what I mean clearly. Possibly the mystery of his history/connection with the restaurant/home/family wasn't executed well for me? BUT...there were also things I liked so I'm going to go ahead and watch episode 2 and continue on with this unless it takes a poo turn. I liked the food and the family at the restaurant. There were little moments that I enjoyed like the moment Song Il Guk (Uh! I can't remember his character name) tastes the food at breakfast and begins to smile and enjoy, remembering his past. That little touch was enjoyable because we all have "sense" memories for food, smells and music. Anyway...I'm done talking now. And I'm mouthy so...I'll certainly be back once this drama gets going.
is there anyone who watching this besides episode 1?

Hi bokami! I watched 2 this weekend and I fully intend to watch 3 and 4 as all are up at Dramafever. I just had a busy weekend and couldn't do it but tonight I'm going to. Are you just wanting an opinion if anyone liked it before you start to watch?

so far I think it is okay. It's too soon to tell if this is a Good, Average or Ultra Chop! We will see.
im just curious...if it is a rom com...or melodrama...or suspence mystery....

its looks comical .....me only seen first 5 minutes
Family drama with a touch of romance?
bokami wrote: Family drama with a touch of romance?

That sounds more accurate. I think this will be a drama that starts out light but gets more dramatic and serious as it goes on. The first two episodes have some fun comedy but also dramatic bits too.

I don't know what to say.. it isn't a rom com or a suspense mystery.. About the family theme.. I think it is just the fact that it is about a family dark secret. The romance exists but I hope it would not turn into a incest or something like that.. I need to see more episodes to figure out how is this story.
I recomend you to start it then you will find out what genre it is.

Why do you need someone else's opinion? Just start watching it and make your own opinion and then start loving it! :D
cant watch it yet until dl links are available :>

me just hope that the makers would not mess up coz i appreciates the writers skills (i mean mawang/resurrrection writer...a female writer that makes two of the most brilliant dark drama)

this shows receives a very very low viewers ratings from korea... wuaaaa

maybe the creators now afraid,,,so she change the genre for mass appeal

It has good ratings for a cable drama. All cable dramas have the same rating, maybe even lower. There are so many MBC, SBS, KBS dramas overrated with a very bad story/ acting./writing and everything so the ratings aren't always the most important.
About the story/ writing.. I don't know.. From what I watched I can't say if it will turn into a dark drama.. The family has a dark- hidden secret. Is that enought? :D
Maybe you should watch it online. It lasts like forever to be translated, I think it will take even more to be available to dl it.
