In terms of handling disability, Last Twilight did better than I was fearing that it would, although it was clearly a show NOT for blind people, but for able bodied people to "learn" and "be inspired". And even then it did okay at best. In other aspects, such as overall story and acting, it blew me away. Episode 8, 9 and 10 in particular were masterful! But episode 11 and 12 let me down and I'm still trying to process my feelings, and I hope hearing other people's thoughts will help.
Why did they have to break up? in ep 12 mhok thanks day for breaking up with him and says that day was right, that mhok did indeed pity him. but im conflicted because that's really not what we were shown in ep 11 or before. mhok's reason was that he was afraid something would happen to day and he'd be far. and he didn't articulate this but i assumed he didn't tell day about the job because he didn't want day to feel like he is holding mhok back. Was that a wrong assumption? He definitely should have told Day, no doubt, but it just feels like Day's reaction - breaking up with Mhok and blocking his contacts for THREE YEARS - was overdramatic in a way that was OOC and didn't make sense. They had such a healthy relationship before that and were talking to each other so well, why couldn't they have figured this out through healthy communication too? It just felt like the show slipped into stupid tropes for no reason...
And as far as Day getting his sight back at the end. That was so unnecessary and out of left field. It didn't affect the story at all - so why do it! Why undermine the message of the show!
