HeadInTheClouds:
Only an idiot would think Jing is the best man for anything, besides crying and selling his sob story. Oh, and exploiting people's weaknesses and difficulties, using transactions to gain what he wants. Jing is not vindictive or evil, but his kindness ends where his self-interest begins.
100%. I like how the drama underscores that Jing owns Lirong casino that holds the slave death matches, asked the clan elders to decide FFYY and Hou's fate because he needed others to do his dirty work for him, and hypocritically criticized FFYY for not thinking about Tushan Tian by not speaking up for herself, while immediately accepting her offer to nourish the Tushan demon spirit with her blood because he needed FFYY out of the picture so he could pursue XY.
HeadInTheClouds:
I find it interesting that XY and Jing both automatically see dealing with Hou as taking revenge/punishment. Are these people's thinking and problem-solving skills in the toilet? There are many things that you could do besides revenge or pretending that it didn't happen. Looks like I need to offer a few classes in Da Huang besides Effective Communication 101. Such as: Setting Boundaries 101; Problem-Solving Skills 101; Conflict Resolution that Doesn't Involve Killing Someone or You Ending Up Shit Creek 101.
I don't think XY was against Jing punishing Hou, but it wasn't her decision to make.
But yes, please make all your classes mandatory in the Da Huang educational curriculum. You should also add How Not To Wallow in Self-Pity 101 for XY, The Benefits of Gene Pool Diversity 101 for CX, The 4-Hour Workweek 101 for FL, Pitfalls of the Sunken Cost Fallacy 101 for Hong Jiang, and Let Sleeping Foxes Lie 101 for XL.

Speaking of XL killing FL - I was listening to some youtube videos the other day and realized...XL kept his promise to XY (WXL) to never harm CX. He could've easily killed CX if he wanted to but never did. In the end, he killed FL (perhaps knowing FL would take the hit for his Emperor) to ensure XY's safety. At least in the novel, so long as FL was alive, there was no guarantee that he wouldn't help Xinyue kill XY again. That was not something I thought about when I read the novel but makes so much sense. Made me love XL even more, he really arranged everything so well to eliminate threats (i.e. FL) and give XY resources (i.e. archery, Left Ear) to ensure her safety.
It was always my theory as well that FL was XL's true target for assassination: https://mydramalist.com/discussions/lost-you-forever/110123-xl-and-xy-story-and-romance-warning-spoilers?pid=3071637&page=617#p3071637

I read a post on facebook that Jing's fans complained the fighting with Hou was too short and did not show his brave, his capability and the chopping of his tails.
Hahahahaha. Jingers are seriously complaining about Jing not getting maimed by having 6 tails chopped off? I never thought I'd have the same complaint as the Jingers, but here we are. I can only hope that the double headed snake lamp that Jing used to figure out the truth about his night with FFYY adequately shortened his lifespan :)

"The new merman is sitting at the bottom of the ice crystal ball, next to the big clam shell (XL's clam shell"
Sort of like a stalker
Right?!?!? I can't believe the drama did this. I'm beyond frustrated with how they depicted the crystal ball from beginning to end.
H19279:
Or as @Solarlunaesclipse still believes in the theory of resurrection for XL. The 2nd mernan can be a hint. :D
Lol, I haven't watched past Episode 18, so I can't speak to whether the end of the drama will support the resurrection/loop back to Qing Shui Town theory. I will say that so far, I've seen possible evidence of a YaoBei reunion in Episode 7 with the snowmen and possible evidence for the loop back to QST in Episode 15 with the toys in Chi Chen and A Heng's house.
AH :
But since the camera pans down to the new merman figure and then cuts to the scene with TSJ floating in the ocean, I really hope that the speculation above is not the intent and that we are supposed to still see the new figure (and not the original merman) as representing TSJ.
I really hope this is the case.
Kokuto:
We got their red wedding, and not the Game of Thrones one, so I guess we'll just have to be content.
Is it petty of me to wish the YaoJing wedding did end like the red wedding from Game of Thrones?
liddi:
Yes. It was really a surprise when we got Xiao Yao's recollection again when Xiang Liu was in Hui Chun clinic, because I thought her scene had ended already. As such, it was such a beautiful, poetic touch to have her reminiscing about that time, and him doing so at the same time. And we then have his internal monologue at that same scene when he touches his heart (because he could feel all her emotions), with the words adapted from an ancient poem by Song dynasty poet Li Qingzhao "A Twig of Plum Blossoms: Fragrance of Red Lotus Fades on the Jade Mat in Autumn" that broke my heart:
"一种心思,两处闲愁 A kind of feeling, puts two people in idle sadness"
which means, two people feel the same but cannot express it to each other and can only be sad in their own place.
Absolutely heartbreaking. Thanks for sharing the inspiration behind the monologue. I'm looking forward to that scene.
