@H19279

I forgot to add the details, yes, you are right.. xy was in that blood clam for a month.

It is known that Xiao Yaolaxuan died on a full moon night.
Xuanxuan Wushenshan lay there for three days + Yushan waited for three days.
Since it was also the night of the full moon (15th/16th) when Xiang Liu rescued Xiaoyao, the earliest it could be was the night of the next full moon after Xiaoyao took the poison. At this time, Xiaoyao had been lying in the blood-cursed sea shell for a month. (So Xiang Liu really didn’t save Xiao Yao in half a cup of tea. The Haibei accelerator has been working for a month.)

 windiaaa041293:
the timeline starts from when Xiang Liu saves Xiao Yao (The book gives a clear date: the Queen Mother's succession ceremony is on the 19th, so Xiang Liu saves Xiaoyao on the 15th):

1. Xiaoyao wakes up the next morning + 1 = 16 (full moon)

2. Succession three days later Queen Mother + 3 = 19 (deficient convex)

3. Jing went to Yushan and stayed for three days. Queen Mother passed away + 3 = 22 (waning moon)

After the ceremony, Jing told XY that he woke up in the morning 5 days ago that means he woke up on morning day 15th. That aftenoon, XL came to Jade Mountain. The battle between Xuan Yuan and Shennong army was very tense. As he told Sir Bi

Xiang Liu smiled “It’s not taking time away from official business, I came here for a stroll is all!”

Wow, What a stoll! From East Sea to Jade Mountain, saving Jing-XY couple

In drama, we can see that xiaoyao wholeheartedly love with jing, so how can she remains feeling for xiang liu? Isn't it cheating on jing

 Taspia:

One thing i can't understand, cang xuan when falling in love with xiaoyao?

XY'd been always the closest relatives to CX since his parents passed away. As kids, they protected, cared for each other. XY even said that she would not get married and stayed by him all life. She also saved his life 2 time although he didn't recognise her. So it made her become more special for him. But his feeling/affection for her only changed to man-woman love when he saw her in her true figure in Jade Mountain (Chapter 12). Before, XY had male form

have you read the novel? the drama is not truely adapted from the novel. According to the novel, it can be understood that XY didn't love Jing at least until she returned from 37 year under the sea. Even after that, her feeling for Jing is debatable. It is like she wanted to move XL's love to Jing. Maybe she liked Jing. Love - not sure!

But the drama wanted to push for 1-1 relationship (XY-Jing). Therefore, man scence from XL was re-allocated to Jing. XY's expression also changed

I have read for once but i can't get xiaoyao's emotion expression

 Taspia:
In drama(s1), xiaoyao has no feeling for xiang liu , whenever xiang liu wants get close to her, she never give him a chance.

Yang Zi in an interview said that the scene where they got out of the Casino and Death arena where Left Ear won and gained his freedom. Her eyes were watery and FFB was about to touch her face. That is hard to believe that there was no love at that moment. Howecer as I said before, the drama production wanted to make XY-Jing 1-1 relationship without interference

About the novel, XY hid her love for XL deeply. She didn't express much externally. So reader can only get their love through careful check for detail such as from conversation with Yellow Emperor, some micro reaction such as she caress his hair, the closeness of their heart etc...

Can anyone tell me what's going on in this drama????

This novel or drama makes me insane, I'm feel like I'm going to be crazy

???  Where did you get that idea?

In the drama I watched, there's so many times where you see how she was close to XL.  Why did she and XL share the Love Bug, if they didn't also share love?

This thread is over 300 pages, mostly talking about XY and XL's relationship in both the drama and the novel, if you want to know what is going on specifically.

Again, not in the drama I watched.  It was clear she connected to and loved XL, having deep conversations and enjoying her time with him and Feng Fang Bei.

Jing was the one who was cheating on his fiance and then wife by chasing after XY.

You need to look more carefully to see the language of the camera especially when my eyes are full of XL, (I remember Jing: I am not in your eyes), clothes, accessories, ingredients for making poison, the place where the poison is stored, the daisies photographed by XL, the couple's bow, the moon, Xy's hairpin when she was at the bottom of the sea 37 years..etc

@H19279

Chapter 43 : It comes from " Bu Suanzi·I Live at the Head of the Yangtze River " written by Li Zhiyi in the Song Dynasty . The explanation is that I live at the source of the Yangtze River and you live at the end of the Yangtze River. I miss you every day and never see you, but we drink the water of the Yangtze River together. When will the endless river dry up, and when will the bitter hatred of separation cease. I only hope that your heart will stay as strong as mine, and you will not let down my infatuated love.

This is the original Poem in which a sentence was used as the title for chapter 43 () - everyday I miss

        by Li Zhiyi

*,        I live upstream of the long river
*。        You live downstream of the long river
,Thinking of My Dearest Daily to No Avail (used the translation by Kaola
。           We together drink water from the long river

?          Will this river ever stop flowing
?          when will this hatred be over
,Wish that your heart like mine
。      Be sure not let down our lovesickness

Note:

(*): literal means long river which is used in this poem. Additionally, is also name of the longest river in China (another name is Yangtze/Yangzi)

: is also the title of the novel in Chinese (literal means eternal or long lovesickness).

The content of Chapter 43 is the time after the planned wedding date between Jing and XY. Jing had been missing for more than 1 month. On the planned day, XY vowed to the moon that she still became Jing's wife despite his missing. Then she was framed by Sea Gull demon who was hire by Xin Yue to kill XY without any trace left. XY was locked in a crytal coffin and sunk in sea vortex. XL saved her from the vortex. To find and recue Miao Fu, XY promised to XL that she would continue to live abeit Jing's death. She met Left Ears. XL encouraged and explained her the situation. XY understood and she changed her mood and attitude. Then she returned to Shen-Nong with CX.

Litterally, the title of the chapter seems to be related to Jing and XY's lovesickness for him.

However, the content of the poem was about a couple living far away from each other (upstream and downstream of a long river). XL lived in QS Town, that is near the river gater to the sea. XY lived in the Middle Plains. Jing has been missing for 1 month, he was assumed as "DEAD". Maybe XY still had hope that he would come back. But he was flown to the sea. There is a hatred related to the couple. Jing and XY had no conflict or any hatred. But XL was considered as enemy of CX and XY's family. Therefore, the context of the couple in the poem is more suitable for XY and XL. He rescued her but she felt like he was rational and a bit heartless (he even mentioned breaking the lovers' bug with her). Did the poem express her wish that his heart for her would be like hers, keep loving and missing each other.

@19279

I think,its about XL

"Sauvignon Blanc Flowers Like Yi" (Ouyang Xiu) Flowers are like Yi, willows are like Yi, flowers and willows are like Yi, when young people part with flowers and willows, they lower their heads and shed tears.

To the east of the Yangtze River and to the west of the Yangtze River, mandarin ducks fly in two places on both sides of the Yangtze River. You know when they will meet.

 windiaaa041293:
this time it was Xiang Liu's turn . He said he wanted to remove the poison, but it felt like he was serious about it. Xiaoyao gave up and started playing Tai Chi . The conversation changed and she cue Xiangliu to look at the moon. It belongs to them. She can follow her own words and make up stories and sing songs. The main idea is: This is the moon between her and Tu Shanjing , and it has nothing to do with you!

Do you believe Liu Xin?

He is a clairvoyant who uses the Lover Gu . At this time, his inner words are like:

The voodoo worm is alive and well in the body, and you, the little liar, really do a lot of tricks...

I read chapter 43 again, found something interesting:

"Xiao Yao smiled and looked at Left Ear, feeling this hard to grasp feeling inside. Many years ago, was Xiang Liu just like this? Appearing dangerous and deadly, but actually simple and straightforward. If back then she could have met Xiang Liu, could he have found the woman he loved? Would he take her to buy perfumes at the flower demon shops? Go eat at hard to find restaurants in little alleys…….Xiao Yao glanced at Xiang Liu but he was standing with his profile to her, looking at the ocean with a small warm smile on his lips. Because of the angle, his smile made his face no longer cold but instead splashed with a sliver of warmth.

Xiao Yao stared for a while before looking away so that she could sort out all the jumbled feelings in her heart. She went inside the cabin to check on Miao Pu, feeding her another pill and some water before heading outside .

Xiao Yao found a shaded corner to sit down, looking up at the blue sky and hearing the sea birds crying, and with that she drowsily fell asleep."

Just about dozen minutes before her series actions to recall Jing in front of Xiang Liu, she had jumpled feelings in her heart when seeing his warm smile.

Why did XL smile? He sensed her thought of that "she could have met him when he just escaped the death arena, wondered if he would take his lover to buy perfumes etc...." . Girl, do you know he had mind connection via the bug?

Did she think of her beloved, poor fiance' at that time (actually all the time since she saw XL again)? No, not a single second.

FFB had done such things (buy perfume, hanging out etc..) with her. FFB was also XL. XL had done such things with her, too. No wonder about that.

And then when he proposed to break the PLB, she suddently became stubborn: pointing to the moon (even tried to draw his attention) mentioning Jing, singing the song as if she missed Jing terribly. @windiaaa041293: I agree with you about this point.

Moreover, with XL around, XY could fall into sleep easily. Then she was back, met CX in the island and returned to military camp in QS Town. Stayed 1 night there, by the end of the next day they (XY & CX) took the carriage back to Shen Nong mountain over the night. Meaning 2 nights by CX. And she got sleeping problem again.

Xiao Yao didn’t say anything and just went back to her room. She hadn’t slept properly in two days and was exhausted, but she couldn’t fall asleep so she took a sleeping pill. As she drowsily fell asleep, the sadness washed over her thinking that she didn’t need to use these pills anymore, who knew she would need pills again to sleep.

Now i started to ask myself who she was thinking of when she sang the last part of the “missing someone “ song in the carriage with CX?

Hi all, thanks for the wonderful discussion. Visiting this thread has now become a daily routine of mine. I saw the three book covers that Windiaaa posted in the other thread. Does anyone know what plant is in each of the book covers? The one in volume 3, miss you forever, is that acacia?  Also there seem to be two dragonfiles in that cover. Is there any Chinese symbolism attached with dragonfiles?

I re-read chapter 43 too and I agree as well. When ever she's with XL it feels like all she can see is him, no one is as important as he is. Also, was the mention of the 32 days since she last saw Jing used only to point out the fact that she counted the days since he disapperead or was it also a way to let XL know that they, unlike them, haven't got to experience the full moon? She brought this into discussion right after XL complained about the bugs and he did hit a weak spot with this comment since the first thing she tells him after she finished singing is that she doesn't have a way to break the bugs.

Welcome!

I'm not sure what the symbolism of the dragonfly is in China.  However, I think the cover represents 3 seasons.  I think it's the same plant on each of the covers, but during different seasons, hence also the different insects.  I could be wrong, however.
