No, he wasn't. LYF could've ended up a pretty different show if Tong Hua had gotten her way. Her first choice for XL was Yang Yang -- he passed on it (unsurprisingly). Her second choice was Xiao Zhan, I don't know if it was ever offered to him, but if so he also passed on it. One of the directors of the show, Qin Zhen, was a fan of TJC's from Under the Skin, she pushed for him to be offered the role. TSJ was originally offered to Xu Kai -- he passed on it in favor of Snow Eagle Lord.

Gee maybe there would be less hate if Xu Kai played TSJ. DW was so bad. I no longer enjoy any DW any more. I use to think he was hot! Crazy!

I loved the trailer for I Miss You.  Except for that plaid flannel. =_=  There's a bunch of short clips coming out from somewhere.  Tan Jian Ci's character looks adorable.

I've only seen Xu Kai in one thing, and I'm not sure he could do better with Tushan Jing.  Maybe less mopey?  But I think his fans like him mopey.  But the character is pretty ... well, let's just say, not my cup of tea.

Yes!  In the flashback where they are in school.  He's not quite as tanned, but other than that, it's remarkable how little he's aged in 15 or 16 years.
