Alright so if you liked Tokyo Vice I'd actually recommend you to check out some western tv shows like
- Mcmafia - this one is based on an investigative book. So all you see is true and based on real stories, like Tokyo Vice. It is a really really good political thriller with connections to any crime network you can think of.
- ZeroZeroZero - this is also based on a real crime organisation.
For Shogun I'd recommend you to check out Blue Eye Samurai. It is an animated series but holy hell it is amazing. It takes places in a similar time period as Shogun and portrays the time accurately. However, there is a lot of brutality and explicit scenes so you really need to be able to see blood and brutal scenes for this show.
