Hi everyone! ^^

I'm going through a major drama slump and other stuff right now. So, I'm just here asking for everyone's favorite comfort dramas/movies and/or recommendations. (it doesn't have to be lighthearted)

I'm open to most genres (though not the biggest fan of sci-fi or some supernatural...)

Please help me find something (literally anything) to watch!

Thank you in advance! ♡ ^^

Here are some of my recommendations, which I have seen recently and love: (Whenever I have a drama slump, I watch a movie or something with 8-12 ep. )

BL: Not Me (TH), High School Frenemy (TH - not technically listet as BL)

Romance: Drawing Closer (JP movie), Love to hate you (SK), What comes after love (SK/JP), Business Proposal (SK)

Comedy: Eulachacha Waikiki (SK)

Other: A shop for killers (SK), Memorist (SK), One Dollar Laywer (SK), Trillion Game (JP)

I have a list: https://mydramalist.com/list/10dlq2k1

I hope things get easier for you. <3

I am gonna say True To Love. I hope it will make you smile.

When I got into drama slump, I usually watch variety shows like:

And some great dramas I recently completed:

Some movies I recently watched which I rate 10/10:

Thai series and movies have this wonderful way of embracing big emotions and surrounding them with warmth and kindness. They can embed a trauma or grief narrative in a comedy and keep it light but also let the emotions be real.

They also handle stress differently in their pacing and (aside from some parts of some lakorns) tend to mitigate it rather than pile it on.

Astrophile is just lovely, although it does lose some of its gracefulness in the last few episodes.

When I'm out of sorts, it's usually a film - Low Season, Suddenly Twenty, Teacher's Diary are all good this way.

I have a lot to grieve though, so my biggest comforts are the ones which make a place for some of that pain. Moonlight Chicken and He's Coming to Me are the ones I can never stay away from for long. Ghost Host Ghost House as the gentlest of them all.

Also movies like The Undertaker, Dek Hor and Nang Nak (Nang Nak is its own genre IMO, a national treasure of a tragic love story, with both the love between the characters and the love Thais have for the story coming through in every adaptation).

Re above - Not Me is excellent but it's really stressful. Though many people want a high level of stress in their television, like I'm comfortable with gentle grief in the story. High School Frenemy may be as well (based on the director, whose work is fantastic but intense, and conversations with someone who has seen it). I haven't felt up to it quite yet.
