Dark comedies

Yo, im new to this site. Anyways, Ive been searching for some asian( mainly korean and japnamese) dark comedies but only found 2; Quiet Family & Memories of Murder,i liked both but the latter i loved to death, even bought it on blu-ray. So recommendations would be appreciated

You should try watching The King 2 Hearts. I really enjoyed that drama, I'm not sure if it is a dark comedy though. But it has a lot of suspense and the acting is very good.

Iljimae is a pretty dark story with a lot of comedy in between, but it is a historical drama and I don't know if that would be something you would be interested in. :)

Thank you, will definitely check these two out @Starae I like movies with dark themes, look at my fav list and ull get an idea of what my taste. But ill watch any movie as long as the acting is realistic, i just watched Breathless and it blew my mind, i like those type of movies

vampire prosecutor has a lot of dark humor and the second season maybe even a bit dark :D also love shuffle is pretty good, it's quite funny, but has this psychological element to it and so does LIAR GAME and not funny, but quite dark is The devil, (I still recommend it, cause it's just so much fun to watch)

The acting in Iljimae blew me away, and the theme to me is dark, just because it's about a corrupted government willing to do absolutely anything for power and money even if it means to kill multiple people, if it wasn't for the comedy in it I don't think I would of been able to handle it. I wish I could be of more help but I don't know of any others that would be considered dark and comedic. ^^;

But as for King2Hearts I don't really see it as a dark comedy, the villain is a dark man who thinks he's hilarious, but that's about it.

^for love shuffle it does have dark comedy theme but the whole genre is more romance eh,, and liar game sure it has a comedic scene but I think its not dark comedy

I dont have any experience with dark comedy drama, but i have reccomendation for Japanese movie you should try Crows Zero, it's kinda violent but also very comical and the fighting scene really blew my mind

I'm a fan of Takashi miike, he's the director of Crows zero. He is known for his black sense of humor and for pushing the boundaries of censorship as far as he could go.

Whoa!

Your movie list is intense! You covered a whole lot of Kim Ki Duk and Park Chan Wook. And both Kurasawa are present there.
For movies, you liked Akira Kurasawa's "Ran", so I suggest "Rashoman", it's about how people present in a murder scene, including the victim, each depict the story to their benefit.

And you should never miss "The Good, The Bad and The Weird", it's a kimchi western and a must watch. It's more comedic than dark, but highly enjoyable none the less.

I don't know if it fits or not, but there's "Shinigami no Seido". It's neither dark nor comedic, it sorts of float somewhere in between.
