Funny with a touch of heartwarmingness pretty much defines most Jdrama. So you're pretty much good to go with all the suggestions. If you're thinking about watching Don Quixote then go for it! It's what you're looking for. But give it an ep or 2 to get used to.

How about Japan Movies I watch many Movies like film fest entries movies, gory type movies ALA kill bill and funny out of this world only in japan type of movies. If you want I can post them here.
