I would find it helpful in the Messages section to have a list of the MDL users I most frequently write to, and then be able to click on their name to start a new message. Yes, we have the inbox to look at, but for some users and I, we have our messages grouped into subjects and when I want to write them a new message with a new subject, I have to either copy and paste their username or try to remember their name and hope I get the right one when the list pops up. (I've often worried about sending a message to the wrong person accidentally, especially if multiple users have similar usernames.)
My iPhone just made this very adaptation for our texts, and I think something similar could be a great addition to MDL.
