Sorting Japan drama

So I've kept pushing for a chart. But the recommendation thread is now locked. People say you can just sort manually.

ok so i try

I am sorting by Japanese ongoing drama top score.

and its a total mess. score jumps all over the place. i cant even figure out which is the most highly scored drama so i can consider picking it up... can someone help?

I tried to sort now by top rated+ongoing but also failed. It seems it's a bug.

well it is possible because some of them are already rated and ongoing but it is not practical. I'd suggest searching by popularity instead so you can see which dramas were the most added.

(you can only sort by members/popularity)

now i have no clue what to pick up (other than the thread i started for some ideas) but individual recommendsations are less likely to be accurate thats why its good to look at overall score or popularity. (but i find score more important than popularity unless there are sooo many people that it becomes a cult classic regardless and u have to try it). but otherwise i prefer a high scoring one even if its not the most popular because u know the most popular anime/drama sometimes are made big by kiddies (death note, shingeki no kyoji, tokyo ghoul...)

I wouldn't recommend sorting by scoring anyway, especially when it comes to doramas because they almost always receive low ratings.

that doesnt matter even if its true because if all dramas received a low rating the bell drops and the sort still works. thats the whole point of mdl isnt it? when u get a large enough sample size of people voting your average score is more likely an accurate representation. and when u have that same large population voting the score is not disturbed by external input.

I suspect that the reason the ratings look out of order is because the scores are weighted by the number of users who rated. Most users don't want to rate a drama until they're done watching, so the current shows typically have very few votes.
If you want to compare the ratings of currently airing dramas, you can also check out the viewer ratings on the Japanese yahoo tv page - https://tv.yahoo.co.jp/tv_show/drama/autumn/
Their numbers are not always useful for comparison though. For example, the rating for Kataomoi is based on only 8 user votes, compared to 522 for Okusama wa Toriatsukai Chui.
I also like to look at ratings on douban. For example, Ashita no Yakusoku and Kataomoi pages
