AbuHammer:

I checked their recs tab on their profile and noticed that they repeated the error of using drama synopses as recommendations. They probably are not familiar with the rules of making “recommendation”. It appears to be a human user, not a bot. You are allowed to recommend the same drama more than once, and the user did that as well as recommending different dramas. However, they all had the same flaw of using synopses instead of recommendations. But they did not use the same synopsis for each drama.

The person joined in august of 2023 and has since then apparently watched over 60 hours per week of doramas. But let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say they've watched some in the past and just marked them.

When you look at the recommendations, they are recommending shows that, in most cases, have nothing in common. Some are for sure actually related to the show they're recommending, some are just... what?

I mean, admins can deal with this as they wish. I don't know about the other account as I haven't actually looked it over, but this one is giving unrelated recs and quite a number of those. To me, personally, that looks like bot behavior.

As soon as I joined MD, I began adding all the shows that I had watched. I hardly had any other activity, so I might have looked like a bot, haha. If you check their recommendations from the beginning, made in August 2023, you will see that it’s a real person who has a lot to say about the same drama, but got bored of writing different things and just repeated the same thing (they gave up easily). They just need to be informed of the rules, that’s all.

Half of the show's they're recommending aren't even on their watched list. Recommendations are random and are 40+ a day, every day or every two-three days. There were recommendations about shows which didn't even air yet (and still are ongoing). No matter how you look at it, that's bot-like behavior. You may give them the benefit of the doubt. There is no system on this site where you're forced to rec shows and yet they're still posting on average 10 recs a day of shows they haven't watched/aren't out yet.

It seems that people have different preferences and habits. Maybe they forgot to update their watchlist after making recommendations. Their last activity was two days ago and their last recommendation was 25 days ago. They might have based their suggestions on the summaries of the upcoming shows. I don’t think they are a bot, because there is no incentive or benefit for doing that. Besides, creating bots must be costly and time-consuming. I have contacted them to ask about this, so let’s wait for their response.

This forum is dedicated to reporting spam (bots). You can also report users here to alert the admins, but this does not guarantee that the admins will take any actions against the users. The admins act at their own discretion.

How about the Report button?

The report button lets you report comments that violate the rules, but it does not work for user accounts.

Thanks! So the report button is similar to posting here if it's just a specific comment and not reporting the user :)

Thanks. They appear to be a clout-chaser who enjoys provoking reactions with their fake account. They did not break any rules explicitly, but I reported them for spam anyway. Ignore them, because they feed on your attention.

I actually do think they broke a valid rule below:

  • will not post or submit Contributions that: (i) are defamatory, damaging, disruptive, unlawful, inappropriate, offensive, inaccurate, pornographic, vulgar, indecent, profane, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, threatening, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable; (ii) incite, encourage or threaten immediate physical harm against another, including but not limited to, Contributions that promote racism, bigotry, sexism, religious intolerance or harm against any group or individual; or (iii) contain material that solicits personal information from anyone under 13 or exploits anyone in a sexual or violent manner;

I bolded the rules the person broke in my opinion :) Telling someone that they are ''barking'' is hateful, offensive and indecent. They basically called me an animal...

Thanks for the report.

I missed your comments somehow, so it looked like they were just mumbling to themselves and seeking attention from others. They acted like a fanatic, bothering everyone who disliked the drama. These fans are harmful.

edit: I reported them for spam/offensive and incorrect information

This user did not break any rules, and this is not the place for reporting them. Please use the report button on their comment.

@everyone, this is not the place for discussions.
