Beware of the Self-Righteous Turncoat - A Disappointing Character Arc


This ridiculous type of characters are many in Cdrama and most directors and writers are vested in it and is getting annoying the more you watch them. 

The so-called "hero" who parades around with a halo of righteousness only to reveal themselves as a colossal hypocrite by the end. 
This character starts off with all the right morals, preaching about justice, loyalty, and love, but oh, how quickly they fall from grace! 

They're the kind who would betray their closest allies or even kill their loved ones, all in the name of some twisted, self-serving version of righteousness. It's not just disappointing; it's outright maddening.


The emotional impact of their actions is severely undermined by the lack of genuine remorse or reflection. This character doesn't grow; they just switch sides like it's a game of chess, leaving viewers with a bitter taste of manipulation rather than a nuanced exploration of morality.


The impact of this ridiculous character arc in "Fang of Fortune" 


1)Neo Hou (ZYZ) The ironical behavior and the audacity of the ML to betray his closest friend "Li Lun" for his so called righteous-cause was very disgusting 🤢. 

Throughout the serie, he's been parading as the most righteous person in the universe by going to the length of betraying his bossom friend in the name of justice. 

Despite being a demon-lord but they want to prove to us that he's more righteous than a Devine-God, What a hypocrisy 🤡 

He does this same thing in "Dashing youth". We are all tired of this Villain made by the righteous people, is time for these directors to stop coming up with this type of useless logics. 

2) Cheng Xiao (Pei Si Jing) As for PSJ, I was in awe with her character at first, given the fact that she was brave and strong with no dull moments. But I gave up on her when she moraly killed her own brother in the name of justice. 

Nothing could make me forgive that type of self righteous character no matter how good they are. Even if her brother was truly a bloodthirsty demon as she justified herself, she still has no right, no justification to kill his brother. 

A lot of this type of character "arc" are many in Cdrama that no one seems to have found wrong or talked about, but I dislike this type character even beyond the script.

Every actors that act in this way is not else but a disgrace to honesty.

LOL  this is drama page and they are not wrong to posting anything related to drama.... you shud ask yourself.. what you doing here??? Constantly instigate useless argument as useless as your life.. who spend time to making post and discusiion just to smear and actor who doesnt even know your existence?
