But I want to keep one thing  that almost all time travel or migration dramas are logic less.  As soon as it falls in water, as soon as lightning flashes, as soon as electric current passes, we go to another world or time.  friend, please tell me if there is any scientific or spiritual or magical reason behind this, which drama never tells us.  Initially, I too had problem in digesting these things, then I understood that this is how drama is made.  So I learned to ignore and pay attention only to good things.

I still have no clue how some don't understand how the time travelling in Lovely Runner goes when there was explanations thrown all over the show that excludes too much exposition because, let's face it, it's a romantic drama.

SPOILER WARNING.

1. The watch was believed to be tampered with by Im Malja. She held the watch the same day Sol met Sunjae, kept the watch safe on Sol's third trip to the past, and was the person who threw the watch away because only her— with Sol and Sunjae— know the power it had.

2. The watch only activates the moment Sunjae dies. He dies at 12am in January of 2023 + May 7th 2009, so Sol is free to use it after it activates. However, it also shows some sign of pre-activation to the user as a warning— which is why Sol saw it lightning up on episode 1 and episode 13.

3. She's not allowed to use it within the 24 hours of it's usage, and the longer she stays in the future, the longer time would pass on the past. That's why on her second time travel, there was a 10 days gap— but due to her having to have lost the watch for long period of time in episode 9, months have passed instead. (This is almost like a reference to Narnia.)

4. She's unable to say anything about the future as time stops when she does. However, if it's the other person talking to her and asking questions, she's allowed to answer. That's why Sunjae was able to understand her time travelling mechanics without the time stopping for her. It's him supplying himself with information, not her.

5. “The brain may have forgotten the memories, but they seep into your soul.” This was Malja's hint to Sol. Sunjae's connection to the watch led him to remember every timeline he had with Sol. He had several triggers in the drama and was the most affected by the changes she made. It's also not like Sunjae was the only one affected by this. Taesung, Inhyuk, Sunjae's dad and even Taesung's dad felt some time of connection with Sol and felt like they know her. They may have had a hard time making recollections about it, but it's there— written in their DNA. (Also, while this is fantasy, this could be a different form of ‘deja vu’. We all experienced that. It's not a myth.)

/6. I explained this before: why was Sol able to remember bits and pieces of the future— specially the part where Youngsoo will attack her at the cliff and Sunjae would die for it, that's why she had to leave the train as to not implicate him:

This is her last time travel. Her brain is rewiring the new chain of events based on the memory that 2009 Sol was experiencing that 34 Sol was recollecting at that time. Since it's her last chance using that watch, it was supposed to be the FIXED timeline after all the time travels that she had. Hence, the ‘vision of the future’.

There are no parallel timelines in Lovely Runner, just one. Everything that Sol did in the past will just rewrite the future, that includes the time traveler Sol and the past Sol. The reason that Sol of the future can't seem to recollect them (OG timeline, 1st travel and 2nd travel) is because past Sol blocks them out due to trauma. Third timeline Sol never got to experience such trauma that's why 34 Sol had no problem remembering Sunjae's death on episode 13.

Anyway, that's all.

My answer is Lovely Runner, by the way.

As I said to Aster, my response to you is due to the manner of your posts, all of which are “I am right, you are wrong, here’s why.”

My response was to show you that your validation of your opinion can be challenged by using different criteria.

No one brought numbers into a post on preferences and personal opinions but you - in all appearances to prove to everyone your opinion was the valid one.

This is rude and stops others from participating on a public forum, which is today’s public square where everyone is supposed to be and feel free to speak.

So, enjoy being “right” according to the single slice of criteria you chose, but realize in so doing you are repelling people  - who could be your friends had you given them the respect for their opinion you obviously want for your own.

nubile,

GREAT comment and insights!

Thanks so much for sharing!

May I share your great insights with other KDrama lovers? I will happily give you credit.

No problem! Feel free to do so! ☺️

I use numbers because that's the only objective comparison.  Otherwise, it is just personal opinions, you said vs I said.  I never had any intention of stopping others participating.

If you read my posts vs your replies, you would find that I only write about the numbers and dramas.  I never write anything about you or my opinion of you, apart from one sentence of stating that your personal opinion of me could be applied to yourself.  The following is the first time I write about you.

On the contrary, you immediately got personal, calling me "rude", "argumentative", and trying to diminish my opinion as "I am right, you are wrong...".  Aren't you doing exactly what you accused me of doing?  If you can challenge my official numbers, you are welcome to do so.  But please refrain from writing your personal opinion of me, and counter my posts with personal attacks .  As you said, this is a public forum, I can write freely regardless of what your opinion of me.

Repeatedly I have said that you’re welcome to your opinion -  but opinions don’t use numbers; they’re just opinions.

You were the person who brought up numbers in response to my comment of my preference for LR  in order to prove your opinion to be the correct one.

Were this not the case, you would have simply stated your opinion in response to the original question.

Instead, you used numbers in response to my preference for LR to prove your opinion was the correct one.

Only because of your doing this did I respond with equally valid data to prove to you that your opinion is simply an opinion, yet every single time you continued to come back with how you were right and in so doing attempted to disqualify any other data collected, as if to sit as the final arbiter of all data everywhere on this subject.

Only then did I point out what you were doing.

You can dress up how you behaved however you wish, but it doesn’t change what you attempted to do.

Opinions don’t need numbers.

Those who respect other’s opinions don’t use numbers to invalidate the other person’s opinion.

They like what they like, and respect another’s equal right to like what they like - without trying to prove the other person’s opinion to be wrong.

You are only saying that you welcome my opinion, but your action says othewise with your personal attacks.

I am repeating that I am using numbers to show which show is more popular and why my opinion that MDL ratings do not reflect real life popularity.

Which show has more viewers in real life is not your opinion or my opinion.   This is actual real life data.   It's like who won an election and who has more votes.    I never use number to say which show you should like more.   I only use numbers to support my statement that QoT has many more viewers globally than LR.   I always use objective verifiable source to support my statement.

I repeat - viewership is not a matter of opinion.   If you think that's just an opinion, then no wonder you would take it so personally, which is totally uncalled for.

Imho you are in the wrong thread. The original question was which drama do you prefer not which drama is more popular. You say that more people might have watched QoT, sure maybe, but many of them might not have felt that it was that great and those that viewed LR might have been less but most felt that it was great, hence the MDL rating.

Saying why QoT or LR was more relatable for you would have been enough. Viewership statistics shouldn't have even entered the discussion in the first place. Viewership doesn't equal relatability.

There should be no comparison in the first place they aren't even the same genre so why come up with this thread 🧵?

Reading these comments brought this question to my mind as well

It's a different Genre... Like even if its hard to choose one of them,  at the first place the comparison is kinda not fair imo....

Yes, the fandoms hate Queen of tears so much that they had to make a thread to justify what does not correlate.

Lovely Runner ❤️...

Dropped QOT first episode.. lol
