"Take Off" is centered around the joy and sorrow of the first Korean national ski jump team. In 1997, the county of Muju in South Korea bids to host the 2002 Winter Olympics. The IOC judges responsible for picking the host city wonders how Korea could host the Winter Olympics without having a national ski jump team. Because of this, a Korean ski jumping team is quickly formed. Edit Translation

Reviews
The ways to which the movie lacks big time in my opinion is without a doubt the characters and the lack of good character development if any at all. There's only a handful of characters we are introduced to so you'd expect to get to know about them but we only find out 1 fact about each of them in a montage style moment at the beginning and since that moment no more information is told and there is no character development. This is especially a shame because the actors where really decent.
Overall expect to enjoy this movie for the sport aspect but don't expect a master piece.

Great casts and story but I think Run Off is better than this
I have seen Run Off before watching this and that's actually a sequel movie although the storylines are completely irrelevant from each other. The similarity though is the fact that both stories are about forming a national team on a new sports and their journey before competing. This is a 2 and a half hour movie which is quite long. I felt like there were lots of scenes that can be omitted to make it shorter without losing it's main concept/message. However, it's good to see them growing and learning together.
I love that this movie also made me cheer for them because of the efforts they made. It's actually a feel good movie so you can watch this over the weekend. It helped me realize how beautiful the process is more than the result itself.
