GREATEST ROMANCE DRAMA'S IMO
- You might be wondering why the ratings of the shows doesn't seem to match their order, it's cause I ordered them in terms of emotional impact for me. And the ratings I try to make it more objective. Some shows may hit home with me, but they don't do their genre justice, or the show doesn't acomplish what it set out to do, In those cases they might be higher on the list, but with a lower rating.
- On the other hand, there are some shows that I can look at as objectively great, with no real coplaints (Obviously I have my biases) but they don't hit home for me for whatever reason (What's wrong with secretary kim is a good example of this).
Used to be a top 10, but it's turned into my personal collection of great Dramas. Most of them are Romance focused, but even ones that aren't have enough satisfying romantic plots.

5. Call It Love
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
For some reason it has a very similar vibe to my mister, but they aren't even remotely talking on the same themes. This is one of those ones that you know how it will end, but ur praying ur wrong
-
6. My Mister
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
Coming from someone that hated infidelity and purposfully avoids shows that even remotely makes it seem ok, I loved this. Mixed feelings about the ending, but understandable and I can stand with the writers decision
-

Korean Drama - 2012, 21 episodes
I remember loving this, but I have to be honest it has a low rewatch value for me. Strong themes, But it feels like a 1 timer for me
-
12. Marriage Contract
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
The absolute pinnacle of marriage contract troupe. I argue there's not a single melodrama that did marriage contract nearly as good. And the ending... oh the ending
-
13. Just Between Lovers
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
It handles grief well, and is a good balance of serious and playful
-
14. When I Fly Towards You
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
All I've gotta say is It's probably the best chinese drama I've ever seen. And the OST lord help me the OST, nothing has ever quickly been added to my spotify playlist as that ost. The only OST better than this one is for my number 1 show

19. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
I have a strong bias to this show *insert* "Aura" lmao but it's a fun ride. some modern audiences might have a problem with it, but it's a product of it's time and it's great in that sence
-

-
22. Tune in for Love
Korean Movie - 2019
-
23. Fake It Till You Make It
Chinese Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
I loved it, mostly for the main characters, but I can acknoledge that it did not do a lot of topics which it tried to bring up justice. It felt like surface level stuff. And it also didn't know how to do villains. but weirdly enough only female ones. It felt like when there's a female villain, they had to do some disney marvel stuff where they tried to reoncile them and say oh they had a tragic backstory that's why. It felt hollow and uneeded. People can just be dickheads for no reason
-
24. Across the Ocean to See You
Chinese Drama - 2017, 44 episodes
Flip every pre-conception about rom-coms you have in ur mind on it's head lmaoo. Funny from begining to end, and a final (expected) twist to wrap up the perfect rom-com. Outside of some not really needed eps, it was great
-

Japanese Drama - 2017, 12 episodes

-
27. Dali and the Cocky Prince
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
This came out of nowhere for me. Great story, great acting, loved watching it. Just unfortunately there's not much else to it. You aren't left wanting more, You aren't left pondering anything, You just loved how down to earth and amazing the characters are. I don't want to say it's forgetable because it's honestly great, but it is kinda forgetable
-
28. Itaewon Class
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
Revenge plot with a guy way to nice to make the revenge properly enjoyable. MC felt way to perfect, wanting to do everything the correct way. But what I do like is the satisfying relationships and how it ends. 2nd lead syndrome fans will love this
-
