  • My Mister

    1. My Mister

    Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes

    10

This was definitely binge worthy. With some crazy storylines yet deep thoughts went into this one. Who knew so much could go on in the work place. I feel this was the beginning of the trend of office love in very unrequited circumstances. Such a great cast. Sweet side stories too. The writing and acting gave me a lot to laugh and cry over. So glad I could find this drama again. I had wanted to watch it some time ago, but all I could find were the last few episodes on Amazon through Drama Fever. Glad it's on Viki now!

  • Touch

    2. Touch

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    7.5

So the first episode drew me in with the idol girl and the famous makeup artist. Then it just got mean. And yeah, you were hoping for more revenge. I was disappointed that the second lead didn't get the girl. I felt the lead was too old for the female lead. The music was good. Kind of. I dunno, it just didn't have what I was hoping for. But the ending was nice and well..it just fizzled at the end.

  • Return

    3. Return

    Korean Drama - 2018, 34 episodes

    7.5

OK, while I was waiting to catch up with other dramas I decided to check out this 2018 dramas that got lots of awards. Honestly, it did feel Americanized with that "Very Bad Things" feel from those privileged 4. This is the drama where the lead female changed actresses. It's also a drama where we find out the main character is the villain. This drama has lots of players. High stakes scenes with basically morans for characters. It does have a certain energy that even your boyfriend will enjoy. Still there is a sad story that plays out, in spite of those poor little rich boys always making the wrong move.  I am glad I watched this drama.

  • Dr. Romantic Season 2

    4. Dr. Romantic Season 2

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    7.0

This one started off with a bang! Loved the new doctors. Great to see the old cast back together. Still, I gotta say it fizzled by the end, unfortunately. But you know, I would watch this show. Because I am a fan of Dr. Kim!

  • Never Twice

    5. Never Twice

    Korean Drama - 2019, 72 episodes

    9.0

Definitely, an old school Korean drama on the soapy side. Where the rich are evil and well the rest have a good heart even if they might not always be using it.

Yes, you have a loud group of people who can't stop 10 seconds to really listen. Even if they did, they might not believe it.

Yes, you have some very old grudges that extend to the next generation.

Still, you've got a fun cast. It was good to see some of my favorites in a drama.  And as fun, as it is, I will admit the "memory loss" storyline got to me most.

True, sometimes, you know the end before the characters do. And yes, it lasts 72 short episodes.

This might not be everyone's cup of tea. But sometimes, you need the predictable in trying times as we have had these days. Otherwise, you might think you are living your own horror story. So this is a drama I needed these past few months.

  • The Fox's Summer

    6. The Fox's Summer

    Chinese Drama - 2017, 21 episodes

    8.5

I couldn't help myself but want to binge this one. Love the main two leads. Very grownup and yet a little childish. I could never figure out the grandmother in this one. Both leads had come from such sad lives growing up and yet to become so successful in a modern world of hotels and fashion. I so loved Jing in this one. If only he could have smiled more. Seven was exceptionally grownup in that baby-doll figure of hers.

  • The Fox's Summer Season 2

    7. The Fox's Summer Season 2

    Chinese Drama - 2017, 23 episodes

    9.0

So happy there was an ending. I really felt this was Jing's show. He does have a certain charisma.  I do adore his smile. Yes, he is one Chinese actor that I look forward to his next drama!

  • Age of Legends

    8. Age of Legends

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 47 episodes

    7.5

Lord, this took me forever to finish. The beginning is so different from the rest of the drama. William Chan and his hair really had me going from the get go. Oh, he might have had some killer moves but he could rock that man bun! Honestly, who cares about the story as long as you could watch WC in action. And he takes you on a trip, for sure.

I loved the friendships. I loved his love for the woman he cherished. Truly, these are the folktales that make the Chinese man as the protector of his woman. He so knew how to take care of her through the thick of it.

This show also made WC out to be almost a superhero of sorts. Someone who couldn't remember his past. Yes, its a blur in places, but a slow grind..other times. I can't say they tied up all the loose ends, but there were 47 episodes to get through.

I feel sure they made the most of their hero and his woman the police officer who was just as heroic. Yet, life is fleeting. There is no time to settle down. Am I right?

  • The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty

    9. The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 48 episodes

    9.5

This has to be my favorite period piece of all times! Loved what Jackie Chan created. Excellent stories. So many adventures and wonderful characters in this series. I loved Darren & Bo's friendship in this drama. It also gave a Eunuch a wonderful opportunity to be fabulous in so many ways!  I loved this little love triangle or was it just good friends?

I think it's episode 46 that really shows the master of martial arts at work. I have to say, I was hoping for more sooner, but I do love the way the series developed and of course, how it ended too. Who knows we might get a second series!

Still, the series didn't leave any cliff hangers. It was enough main course to savor through this journey of those who worked for the Ming and yet many times were dismissed who had to work even harder to show how worthy they were to sold mysteries.

There were some amusing parts..like the Department of professional prostitutes and the historical aspects of food and drink during that time. I also loved the idea of the "Chinese prairie" and securing the borders. Also one has to consider the tribal aspect of the historical value of the story. I don't know if I gave this enough points. I  hope I did. One of my favorite dramas of the year!

  • Skate Into Love

    10. Skate Into Love

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 40 episodes

    9.0

Such a charming cast. No horrible ending. A wonderful campus story. I liked many aspects of this childhood story.  I liked how the main character acted to this..Master Tang.

China loves its sports and we really get to see just how much they support their sports.

And we've got us a new actor to fall in love with in this one as the main lead. I actually adored the second lead too.

Thankfully, it doesn't go in circles. I enjoyed many of the side stories with other couples. The music was wonderful too. Some pretty sweet FX moments too.  I would consider this drama in my top five of Chinese dramas this year!

  • The Best of You in My Mind

    11. The Best of You in My Mind

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    7.5

I loved the cast. Sweet campus story with some twist and turns about family situations. Still, we never knew where the second lead wince. Once the main character's job was over at the pet store we don't see this handsome rich kid anymore.

What I didn't like was that we don't know how time flies in this college story. We don't get closure with the Mom who left and is a doctor (sort of, but not enough). I wanted more story about the little brother..cause he's so adorable and he is a scene stealer in this drama.  I wanted to know more about the roommate who didn't like her.  But the main couple was interesting, how they'd been friends since they were little. The idea of not knowing what you didn't know about your family. & yet I thought we should of known more about the main leads family. Also, was being an archer all he had going for him? How is that possible.

I loved their chemistry. I felt the main lead was wonderful at being moody. He's got the face for it and well, I am smitten with that actor.  I would love to see a lot of this cast in more dramas!

Oh, and a very interesting quote at the end of the drama..I might add.

"Will you still love me, after the drama is over?"  That made me smile.

  • Eccentric! Chef Moon

    12. Eccentric! Chef Moon

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    8.5

This was a very dark story.  Although, it starts off light with two people full of themselves with so much accomplishments. One from the fashion world. The other a world-renown chef.  Both at the top of their game. And suddenly, it's fate.

There is a lot I liked about this show. Especially, the darker side of the demented villain who was no stranger to crime.  Really, he was quite horrifying. And then there was this silly side of the villagers that was a bit over the top.

Honestly, I didn't know if this drama didn't know what it really wanted to be. Serious or silly fluff. It was hard to find a good medium with this one. I have to say, I couldn't stand all those loud people.

And some would say 'What a great storyline!' but I am not sure it was that great. True, it was great seeing one of my favorite actors in the lead and it took me til the 3rd episode to figure out who he was. I must add the greatest role in this drama was the villain and that actor really was over the top but I did enjoy his performance. Although, I didn't know where the writer was going with him.

So yeah, this one had a lot of OVER THE TOP performances. Maybe the story too.  I felt the story could have been tighter with a wee more plot. There were many side characters that seemed to fizzle after awhile. Saying this, it's a drama worth watching. Especially, if you have missed these actors.

  • Diary of a Prosecutor

    13. Diary of a Prosecutor

    Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes

    9.0

OK..I don't think I wrote about this one in 2019 review. But I absolutely loved this office drama.  No romance at all(OK there is that online game one), but it did have a certain charm. I thought it was well written. A charming cast. There was a certain chemistry that made you want to find out more about these characters and their lives. It gave me laughter and smiles from time to time. I have to say it's my favorite drama of 2019. It didn't need to be action-packed, but some fantastic conversations and interesting characters in some unique situations.

  • Flavour It's Yours

    14. Flavour It's Yours

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 25 episodes

    10

Simon and Irene what a great combination. Gong is certainly a leading man one can warm up too.  It's a quirky story about the palate and wine and drinking.  Still, lots of twists and turns and evidently when you date in China you live together in separate room...apparently, or you become some rich guy's assistant.

Naturally, these two bump heads. After all, she's an imp full of childlike charms and he's super serious about his lifestyle and wine.  Even so, one would never imagine some of the characters that would come into their lives in this story. Definitely, this story made me want to come back for more. I was interested in many of the characters in this wine tasting story. The music was fun with an almost jazzy feel. It was one adventure after another to carry on til the end. Even so, if there was a sequel I would definitely watch it if Simon Gong and Irene Song are in it!

  • Meow, the Secret Boy

    15. Meow, the Secret Boy

    Korean Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    9.0

This is not a drama for everyone. It is truly a sad story.  It didn't get the ratings most were hoping for either. One might ask yourself..what L doing to acting life, choosing roles like this. To some its a long drawn out stupid story. But this is a story about being abandoned. I was really impressed with the second lead's story.

Actually, it would have had a better ending if J & H had lived together in the end. I really think he needed the cat more than the webtoon girl. But he was allergic. Still, the best part of this drama is the bromance between J & H. It was much more heartfelt. Naturally, there is no sense to this drama as to why the cat can turn in to a human. You won't get any answers there.

The drama should have been shorter and it took too long for the main character to figure this stuff out about her cat. I wish the vet had a bigger part. He was really cute. Still, I would fangirl L in anything. Sigh.

  • The Love Equations

    16. The Love Equations

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 27 episodes

    10

I adored most everything about this drama but the OST. The music could have been better. It was comedic at such a real level. I loved the friends. I loved the ditzy main character(and her funny parents and childhood friend) with such an honest performance from Simon Gong (of course, I would watch him paint a fence, bag groceries are any other run of the mill thing).

Seriously, though this had a lot fun moments and a few sad moments too. I won't give anything away, but I really enjoyed this Chinese drama! And of course, Simon! but I liked a few of the supporting guys too. And her roommates were all very original.

  • My Love, Enlighten Me

    17. My Love, Enlighten Me

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    7.5

I wasn't thrilled with this one as I had hoped. I might be put off by Elenore after all. She's always over the top and I found her silly in so many situations. And why did she have to puff her face out so much? Leon was charming but his character was quite a downer and I hated the way he wasn't supportive in some situations as he should have. Of course, this was such an awkward romance I found myself more charmed by the other so called couples in the drama.

Still, it lacked a certain sizzle. I mean, couldn't they have really kissed sooner or is that asking too much. And when they did they might as well have been in elementary school.

It was a strange storyline in the entertainment industry. Although, the first episode made me want to tune in for more, but after awhile I got a little tired of their story.

I dunno what went wrong in the story. I part of me didn't even feel like finishing the drama, but I did anyway.

  • Symphony's Romance

    18. Symphony's Romance

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 40 episodes

    8.5
  • Maiden Holmes

    19. Maiden Holmes

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 32 episodes

    9.5

Adored this one. Although, couldn't they figure out she wasn't a man long before the second episode. This was really a sweet surprise!

  • My Unicorn Girl

    20. My Unicorn Girl

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    5.5

Oh..it was down right silly, but then again..I would watch Darren in anything. Cute.

  • To Dear Myself

    21. To Dear Myself

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 48 episodes

    9.0

It got off to a great start..like many C-dramas and I loved the cast..but after awhile I felt we were going in circles. And then the last few episodes was just ridiculous. It was like the main characters were gambling their careers away. Only Zhi was the best redeemer of all. I loved her character the most!

  • Tomb of the Sea

    22. Tomb of the Sea

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 52 episodes

    10

Oh..I was consumed with this one. Has to be Kennedy's best out of the Lost Tomb series. I loved this adventure so much and the main character too, who made everyone else look good too. Also, the character from Mystic 9 was another favorite in this series. Zhang is perfect in this part! Favorite drama!
