Ma Dan Yang, born in Yinchuan of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is a Chinese actress, formerly known as Ma Yuan. Due to her mother's influence, she has been fond of literature and art since she was a child. She represented her junior high and high school in Ningxia competitions and won several first prizes. She graduated with honors from the Film and Television Performance Department of China Academy of Drama.

In 2013, Ma was selected into the "Seven Stars Program" due to her outstanding conditions and solid professional foundation. She went to the United States to receive rigorous actor quality training and was admitted to the New York Film Academy.
