On August 14, 2012, at the age of 16, Wang was arrested during a police raid on the Bamboo Union’s main branch by the Taoyuan County Police Department (桃園縣政府警察局), as part of an investigation under the Organized Crime Control Act.
In 2016, Wang participated in an attack on a rival, Li, at the request of a member of the Yongping Industrial and Commercial Taekwondo Team (永平工商技擊隊). The assault, which involved weapons including an iron rod and an aluminum rod, resulted in severe injuries to a boy named Qu, who fell into a coma. The Taoyuan City Police apprehended Wang within seven hours. On July 25, 2016, Wang was indicted for attempted murder, and the investigation concluded on November 3 of the same year.
Qu later died from his injuries in 2017. Wang was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Taoyuan District Court (桃園地方法院) on December 31, 2019, with the case open for appeal. On November 25, 2020, the Taiwan High Court (臺灣高等法院) increased the sentence to 17 years. The Supreme Court (最高法院) upheld the sentence on August 29, 2023, finalizing the case.
Wang fled to Shanghai, China, and on February 2, 2024, the Supreme Prosecutor's Office (最高檢察署) listed him among Taiwan's "Top 10 Fugitives." The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (外交部) canceled his passport.
