Miao Pu, born to a family of Qinqiang actors in Xi'an of Shaanxi Province, is a Chinese actress. At aged five, she made her first performance with her parents in the play "The New Year Sacrifice". Still in high school in 1995, she represented Xi'an in a nationwide contest for newcomers, and went to Beijing Film Academy for a period of training. She won the championship at the final.
