Pithai Smithsuth, nicknamed Pete, was born in Bangkok. He moved to Los Angeles for high school and started shooting skate videos with camcorders for his friends. After graduating from college, he moved back to Thailand to work as a cinematographer for commercials and feature films. He has shot multiple feature length projects, winning the Thai National Cinematography award for TV series (2018 -“In Family We Trust”) and the Thai National Cinematography award for Feature Film (2020 -“Inhuman Kiss”).

To enhance his cinematography journey, Pithai has elected to work on projects with renowned cinematographers such as Greig Fraser (True Love), Newton Thomas Sigel (Da 5 Bloods), Glen MacPherson (Thai Cave Rescue) , and Rodrigo Prieto (Killers of the Flower Moon) as a camera operator and a gaffer.
