Born in 1984 in Hokkaido, film director Sho Miyake followed up his Good For Nothing (2010) with Playback (2012), which was officially selected for the Locarno International Film Festival’s International Competition. He has also won numerous accolades, from the Rising Director Grand Prix award at the 27th Takasaki Film Festival and Best New Director to the 22nd Japan Film Professional Awards. Miyake's recent works include THE COCKPIT (2014), an official entry in the First Films International Competition at Cinéma du réel (an international documentary film festival) and the “Silence Diary” series of video diaries.
