hahah seriously i saw people giving 6 or 5 to this drama i think we didnt watch the same thing
In any case, romance here was advertised, so people have a right to complain if it didn't meet their expectations. Personally, as I've said above, it had several other problems, not just lack of kissing scenes, so this aspect of the drama made me one of those who lowered the score.

You can't really compare it with U:J. Scorebombing there really was unfair, because romance wasn't in the genre tag, but people still came in droves expecting it because of the leads. If anything, it overdelivered with romance there, it was a nice bonus.

I understand you want to defend this drama cuz you really like it. But I already have my own opinion, even wrote a review. Seeing other people's comments and reviews I'm not the only one who found romance presentation here lacking. There are several things that are off with it in general, but it'd be too long to write about it again.
I was so suprised by this drama, I thought it would be the typical historical drama + revenge. I was not expected…
About the flower. FL's PTSD trauma is not easily curable, it can relapse if she's not taken care of properly. ML here is her "oasis of sanity". When he was gone for so long, she started to lose interest in reality, she missed him so much. So she started to go distant and hyperfocused on that flower. Good thing she realized that she needed to be around ML to feel better. For a perfect ending they should have added a kid or two here. Giving birth is documented to reduce PTSD recurrence significantly in a percentage of women. Having them could also help focus her attention on them, she was becoming languid with nothing of interest to do.
It wasn't rushed. On the contrary, last couple of episodes were a bit draggy. And score lowering happened because lots of people finally finished watching it. Most common complaints can already be seen.

Is that so wrong? This drama has "romance" in the genre. Nevermind steamy, what we got here in the end were some baity appetizers followed by a dead fish out of the freezer, so to speak. For once, I agree with the score going down a bit here, this aspect of the drama was underwhelming.
What was the significance of that pink flower in ep 39?
I think it was to show her missing ML so much, it started causing her to fall into her trauma relapse. She started to go distant and hyperfocused on the flower. Thankfully, she realized what she needed to do. ML here is her oasis of sanity.
I have a question. In episode 35, A-Jin says that according to the law, someone with a physical disability can't…
First, he's ML, so everything is allowed. Second, I think they were talking about exams - nobody'd allow you to become an official if you're a cripple. But ML already passed his own years ago, before getting crippled. We also have duke Hua as an example - he's very old and sick, but still holds position. They also have severe lack of qualified staff in that imaginary kingdom. I guess that's what you get by persecuting and killing scholars. They also looked like they were having trouble with military capacity. Killing whole armies because of made up charges against a general is also not a good strategy long term. Especially if there's a rival kingdom constantly breathing down your neck at the border.
1. The plot slowed down considerbably. They took a very sweet time to show everybody's epilogues. Could have shortened…
Right, the dead fish kisses, deliberate camera angles and infrequent frequency. But there's nothing there about not adding 1 more fkn tiny dead fish kiss at the end, and considering other dramas airing on TV there, it's def a choice. Some people say it's actually the scriptwriter who's more into writing plot driven dramas, than romance focused.

Look, there were dramas airing with livelier kisses on CCTV, nobody censored anything. Heck, you don't even need to go far - FL's previous drama wasn't even romance focused, but had way livelier kisses and engaging romance. Also, even if they could only show these timid kind of kisses they had here before, why couldn't they add 1 more at end of the drama? This is a romance drama, ffs. It's not like people are expecting anything out of the ordinary here. What, there's kissing scenes limit per drama? Give me a break. They didn't even fill the quota here, if it even exists.
Ye Ying is such a bird omg. Absolutely no shame or self respect. That man has never once shown you a ounce of…
She imagined herself a hero in him, then got angry at him for not meeting expectations, then lacking any sense or self respect kept running after him, trying to fix him. Typical female logic, wdym 😂
