With how grand these characters' titles are, one'd think that sets would be more grand as well. A prince upon a prince upon a princess. I've read a good comment below about how tiny the empress dowager's chambers are. And in general, everything is like a chamber theater play. Def seen way grander sets in cdramas. The greenish color palette is nice though, some sort of theme def.

Yea, at times nothing really happens, slow domestic scenes. And then there are scenes where everything is fast paced and you gotta keep attention or miss something in a sentence.

Those who read the novel, how annoying was that girl from the other country? She gonna force ML to marry her?

If that is so, why didn't FL or people on the mountain inform the guards below? The guards may not be helpful, but they genunienly looked like they've no idea what's going on up there. Also, if FL was living alone up there, how did she get the edict commanding her to come down for her wedding? If somebody went up the mountain to give it to her, they would have seen that everybody's gone.

I think at some point they'll have to go up that mountain for her to face the truth. But I'm thinking it's not gonna happen any time soon. Gotta mend her fragile mind a bit, unless she totally breaks.

Yea, but still, from what I've seen in other dramas, no legit. wife is happy about her husband bringing in other women into their house. It still hurts their feelings. Likely that's why FL and her mother were often living on the mountain, not just to visit the grandpa and get education.

It's unclear atm. Does she have anything to back her up if she wants to grab power? Right now she's subservient to the empress dowager, she has no ligitimate sons from the late emperor to claim anything. So what would be the point in undermining the empress dowager and switch sides? She also is not on SML's side, that guy's too unlikable to have any allies.
Also, if she wanted to do something, so many years have passed already. She in for some long con?

Also, that step-mother cheated on FL's father, her daugher wasn't even his. He's also a dumb trash.

Those are idol drama fans, they want a typical idol drama with physical, in your face romance and perfect heroes. This one is not typical, you actually gotta use your braincells to keep up with the plot, and heroes are far from perfect.
They may still get what they want later, but attention span nowadays is very short, not many will return I'd wager.
