I dunno, tropey baby boy general aside, I didn't like that FL was a total Mary Sue there and the plot started to go down the drain after around episode 20. Visually pretty, but couldn't go the distance in the end, imho. At least it wasn't as s*itty as Legend of the Female General, boy, was that some hot trash. I still remember the "dudu" xD

It's unclear who was burned, graduates or those who stayed, but judging by the stone grave there are only 7 people laying there. The mountain clearly had more.

The first guy who is helping her is unclear whether he's from the mountain proper or a persecuted graduate. The accountant she hired later was a graduate who went off the mountain before s*it hit the fan. So only the first guy knows what happened on the mountain. And I think if there are other survivors, it's only the scattered graduates.

Imho, it's not her perforamances, she's fine. It's the questionable plots and characters of some of her recent dramas. Though she's on a roll this year, I fkn loved Unveil: Jadewind, the plot was great and she had a very cool badass character to play there, completely different from Mo Li.

Yea, personally I love me some mystery. It'd have been boring if she had nothing interesting in her backstory other than being just some poor unloved heiress. And good riddance to that reincarnation trope, at least I hope they got rid of that. Would have been super lame, I hate that trope.

Yea, exactly. It's a different media, you gotta adapt the plot to it. Though from what I've gathered, that Lishan mountain plot and FL's schizo tendencies are all made up for the drama and weren't in the novel. Though I can't say it's a bad thing either, def intriguing.

I dunno, to me it looks that, except for the guy who helps her, everyone else on the mountain are dead. Nobody went up the mountain to check on them, so nobody has a clue. She lies about them to comfort other people or to diffuse suspicions, but it all looks like some kind of sad sh*t happened up there. So she's on a mission to kill the villains who represent those straw dolls and to fullfill final wishes of the dead people, like with that tree cutting. She also has stacks of unsent letters for people on the mountain, she's been writing them to cope.
It's all hard unhinged cope and clever scheming for revenge.

I think it's enough to read a lengthy summary written here in discussions to get a general idea. But even that one, imho, is way too long and showing that the novel had too much boring politics. No way to fit all of that stuff in the drama, even with 40 episodes, so good on them to make changes.

Maybe a bad mistranslation, but it's both legs been mentioned at one point?
Though in that battle it looked like only one leg. But in prison it looked like both. And he was hitting one and the other, I dunno.

Maybe they all died of hunger or illness because of the blockade? Clearly nobody went to check up on them all those years.
Also, FL could have been biting herself, she clearly has "big bats in the belfry".

I like that the plot isn't dumb so far, that's the main positive.
Too many tropey, overrated af dramas lately, heavily relying on visuals and actors' baby faces, and turning into trainwrecks by the end. Hopefully good narrative will last here till the end, don't want to get disappointed like with POJ.
Main actors are also doing well, def another selling point here as well.

More like it's a drama that probably needs to be rewatched, I'm sure there are things the audience won't realize right away, like that one pair of slippers and the imaginary maid.

Good thing I don't have time to read these novels, keeping an open mind for dramas. And it's a decent enough drama so far, actors are selling it. Nothing too fresh plot wise though, except for FL's mental condition. Which is also a fan fiction as you'd say.

The drama is ok so far, another score bombing by delulu haters? This actress seems to be in crosshairs since the start of the year for nothing in particular other than simply existing.
I think MDL needs to block scores until drama finishes airing, most of the crazies’d get bored and leave by then. Same goes for day 1 reviews.

I think she looked better in Unveil Jadewind. But that drama had more expensive production in general.
